Religion has caused more harm than good in the history of the world. Most wars have happened over religious differences. As long as there was a moral code of some sort, we'd be fine.

A world without religion. An unusual concept.
To be honest though, there would probably be just as much disease, sickness, and poverty/starvation in the world, even if the world was without the 3 fastest growing, major religions in the world: Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. Because it is innate in most humans to be greedy, selfish, lustful/carnally minded, and narrow-minded. It is not until humanity erradicates "through the practice of the 4 Noble Truths and The Noble Eightfold Path (THIS PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE)", all the negative unwholesome mental and emotional factors (which only cause suffering), AND replace them with Patience, Lovingkindness, Honesty, Generosity, Empathy, Wisdom, and Self-Control and Humility, that humanity can end the hunger, starvation, killings, wars, sickness/diseases and ALL the sufferings in the world !!

Boy do you need to read some history books!
What a load of complete drivel!
Religion has, and still is, playing on the fears and doubts of mankind, it has amassed fortunes by following the same shameful rules, Mother Teresa became an icon for the richest religion, by passing the begging bowl to the governments of the world, why did THEY not put their hands in their pockets and help?
No they would rather the parishioners payed.
Yes we would be better off without religion, ALL RELIGION, but the need to believe will always keep someone wealthy!

A world of Athiests? Well I think that would be okay for there would be no wars based on religion. However, when that happens it all leads to chaos, im sure that when the first religion was founded they thought, it's perfect. Well look now, in the past few hundred years there has been a lot of wars based on religion.

I feel the same way u do. But I wonder if ppl would bother each other as much, or die in the name of it as much, and kill in the name of it as much. The world might be a bit more peaceful w/o it. Yes, a lot of our laws come from religion, but a lot of our laws are broken in the name of it too. I"Ve never known any religion that says KILL in my name. But there are a lot of religions doing just that. There are many that say STAND UP for ur religion and if u have to, pay the ultimate price.....but what's going on now isn't what that statement meant.

Religion is basically a coping mechanism,in my partial opinion. What would the world be like without it?
When humanity gets to that point, they will have developed other means of understanding their existence and other ways of making themselves happy and mentally safe from harm. They will have more complete scientific knowledge with which to answer their questions.
Knowledge will eventually render religion obsolete. As is happening now,the transition will go unnoticed by most.
I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.You won't be here on that day anyway.I'll let you know how it goes...

particular, a international without drugs. a international without technologies. a international the place people nonetheless think of that there are waters in some huge vat interior the sky. Shall i pass on? ok, i'm going to. technology has in no way cornered the industry on weapons. Human violence drives that progression. via far, superstition and alterations over unsubstantiated comments is greater detrimental. weapons might kill or injury interior the quick term, yet faith has enslaved the human race for many longer. is probably a international without people greater suitable for something of the residing issues? on the value we are going, the cockroach will inherit the earth. communicate approximately meek, eh?

if there was a world without religion where would the morals come from? i dont know how man developed morals but im pretty sure religion was a big part of it. personally i wouldn't want to live in a world with no religion its too depressing to think that i was born for no purpose and after i die i'm just gone. worst than that is thinking of all my relatives and the thought of losing them is horrible but at least by religion you have some hope. and without hope whats the point of life? thats just the way i feel.

We've all heard the reasoning about how much death and destruction religion has caused over the last thousand years...Well lets look at that.. Men in power have been the ones to do that...not the lowly parishioner who prays and worships and tries to be kind to the people around them..
If the world could change right now- no religion!!!!!!!
there would be a large portion of people with nothing to focus on...misery for those who need a centering other than work, family, striving.
Perhaps we would be fine...but i doubt it.

Yes without religion I think it IS kinda sad.
But come to think of it, no more wars over religions (i.e. muslims and Christians, Muslims and Jewdaism, etc.) And no more arguments which religion is best.
That would cause SOME peace in this world.
On the other hand, religion is sort of a guide, so I'll stick with keeping it around!

First of all, we need to separate natural religion and Christianity. There many, and i mean many natural religious, yet very few Christians. The religious man goes to church and ask God to do his will, and the Christian, God calls him to church so that he/she will do God's will. With that said, i think it will be very sad to live without a God. I mean if there is no God, or if there is no Eternal Life, whats the point of living, suffering and going through so many sh..t. I am catholic and i have friends from different religions and even atheist, and i never had any problem with any of them. God is love so whats the point of saying i believe in God and not love your neighbor. Christianity and religious should be all about love. Who could resist to love.
