And if God forced heaven on you, not giving you a choice, you would be angry about that.
His mercy IS infinite. It cost Him His Son an enormous amount of pain and suffering (not to mention death) for ingrates like you and I to have a chance (and yes, a choice) to determine our fate for eternity.

Nobody has to go to hell because of God's justice. God's mercy is always prevalent as divine justice; otherwise mankind would have been destroyed long ago.
God supplies to all humanity with soil, light, pure water, and air more than we need; He even provides the law for recycling despite centuries of our wasting and polluting.
Now, at our age of maturity, we can exploit wisely the natural resources and share equitably to each other to improve our lives.
And then, we will realize more and more His eternal love. The illuminated people should make sacrifice first to gain the faith of people in sufferings so that all can peacefully and collectively restore our physical and spiritual station.
Our sufferings are clearly the results of our childish struggling against each other, and not of the scarcity of anything in God's bestowals.

Some of the above answers are sad, so sad!
And you ... you are mixing words to try to make a point!
God's Mercy is beyond infinite. He gave you the chance by allowing His Son to give up His life for Us, for You!
Hell is the option for wrong or evil-doers, for non-believers! Jesus is your chance for a way out of Hell, for forgivness!
The choice is yours here and now! You do not HAVE to go to Hell! You can save yourself!

you are wrong in some aspects ,
hell egsists because god has grace ,grace must include justice.
gods mercy is infinite ,because guess who made it.
the chief engeneer ,designer and planner made the specifications,
the first rule was that freewill thing,
god who has the greatest freewill ,gave the same to all he created ,to not reveal grace as the cost of that freewill ,he created the lower heavens
masny would call hell
but simply speaking its where like lives its various loves and passions with like minded spirits
in truth all is heaven ,a murderer wouldnt feel comfortable with nuns so they all have different rooms ,loosly called heaven and hell but essentially 9 flooers of the highest good and 9 floors of the worst evils
devided into 3 heavens and 3 hells
heaven is light love
hell is dark cold ,even beside the fires
each is allowed to dwell in its level of heaven or hell ,
as long as we want
till we loose the [passion ,and love some other thing besides self gratification that draws us into higher beeing ,of our free choice,
we do good /are good because to not do good feels so bad, but we are all the same thus feel at one
where ever god in his infinite justice ,in his mercy let us reside in his so vast house.

God's mercy is infinite but it may apply to those who have offended only God and no one else was offended.
If the offence involved another party as well such as murder or rape, God will show mercy and forgive offence against God if you ask for it and show true repentance, but you have to be forgiven by the other offended party as well, otherwise the offence to the other party requires justice.

First you are confused, they dont "have to" they choose to by not accepting God's salvation in Christ, and believe wholeheartedly on his provision through Jesus Christ. God's mercy is greater than man's sin - yet mercy eventhough given to all, does not necessarily mean that everyone accepts that mercy. Some spit in the face of God, some ignore it, some say it isn't true, some say it is a lie, some say it is a joke, a fairytale.
Therefore God established that salvation is "it is by grace that you are saved through faith, and this not of yourself lest anyman should boast" Salvation cannot be earned, it is a gift that one has to accept completely and unconditionally wholly and fully in the one who gives it. The prerequisite is faith, faith that shows that we stand completely in Christ's merit for our sins.
Hell is then for those who rebel against God's love, mercy and compassion in providing a Savior - His Only Begotten Son! That whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting live.
Hell is reserved for those who refuse, deny, and reject God's grace.
What else could one hope for having refused the gracious offer of God's love, mercy, power, and life - but Hell!

I agree not.
Jehovah is a God of both justice and mercy. (Exodus 34:6, 7; Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 145:9) His justice and his mercy are both perfect, and they work together harmoniously. (Psalm 116:5; Hosea 2:19) Both qualities perfectly balance or complement each other.
Hell is simply the "grave." No loving Father would let his children burn in the fire. Please read:
Jeremiah 7: 30Â ‘For the sons of Judah have done what is bad in my eyes,’ is the utterance of Jehovah. ‘They have set their disgusting things in the house upon which my name has been called, in order to defile it. 31Â And they have built the high places of To′pheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hin′nom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart.’
If God finds burning children disgusting, why would he create it? No, he didnt, religious teachers created the idea of fiery torment in hell to sow fear in the hearts of people and try to convert them---

God's mercy is infinite, and He gave us absolute free will... we choose our ultimate path of eternal life or destruction. No one has to go to hell.

It is major contradictions like these that make me not believe in Hell.
As a matter of fact, I would be an atheist if it were not for the encounter I had with Jesus. Christians can be stupid bigots at times, the atheists are in general way smarter (some exceptions :))
Oh, and this is BarkleyVader talking, not Santa. I quit with the Santa thingie.

this is how it works
in the beginning we were sinless and like god, basicallly were in eden, which was much like heaven, then we sinned, so sence we disobeyed our master and creater, Romans 6:23 says "for the wages of sin is death but the gift of god is eternal life in jesus christ our lord". so sence we sinned, our "wages" or penalty is death aka hell, BUT JESUS didn't sin, so he didn't deserve death, yet he died anyway as a sacrifice , he died not out of obligation, like us but as a sacrifice, he died in our place, was in hell for 3 days, and rose from the dead proving that death had not hold on him, and sence he, was human for 33years, went through life just as all other humans do, was temped like a human, was killed like a murder, all through of this without sinning at all, he has payed our debt to death, so all who accept him and follow him can take advantage of this salvation, so his mercy IS equally infinite!
