you hear about it every once in a while. The first thing most people so is try to get out, only to realize that it's not gonna happen.
David Robinson was discharged to play basketball. The official reason was because he was "too tall" to fit comfortably on a ship, which I think is crap. They shouldn't have put him throught the Naval Academy if he was to tall. He didn't spprout up right after graduation.

The possiblity of someone winning the lottery while in the military is the same as anyone else. What happens is the miliatry will offer someone that has won a large sum (over $1 million) a discharge. The reasoning is that if the person gets an NJP, that person can pay someone else to serve his sentence (still in the books) The punishment would be meaningless.

Back in 1981 a sailor on my ship won about $100,000 on The Price is Right. A friend of mine, in the navy, was on the TV show "The Big Spin" by hitting a scratch off California lotto ticket. Her first spin was a "double" meaning she had to spin again and double the amount of the prize. She hit $150,000 and they doubled it to $300,000.

Yes if you are in the Hezzbollah Military, you enter a lottery every day. Using the rulebook of Muhammad, the Quran, you pick a Satanic Verse {Mu's title, not mine} and then find a child or a unarmed woman and then vent your hatred...all in the name of Allah.
The greatest number of Satanic Verses achieved ---you win the chance to blow yourself and as many innocent bystanders as possible, to smitherings, and your family wins anywhere form $10, 000 to one million bucks...not to mention the virgins in heaven, it they aren't fresh out of them.

If someone in the military wins the lottery, they are given a "hardship discharge". Basically it is to allow them to manage their newfound wealth. But also keeps the ranks in check, if someone is rich, they basically don't feel as though they have to follow orders anymore.

It happens, and when it does they are given the opportunity to exit the service. The thinking is they either stay because they want to or leave since the military can't control them anymore with their paycheck.
