According to Jewish mythology, Lillith was the first wife, but did not want to be submissive to Adam.

"The angles who are in charge of medicine: Snvi, Snsvi, and Smnglof. After God created Adam, who was alone, He said, 'It is not good for man to be alone' (Gen. 2:18). He then created a woman for Adam, from the earth, as He had created Adam himself, and called her Lilith. Adam and Lilith began to fight. She said, 'I will not lie below,' and he said, 'I will not lie beneath you, but only on top. For you are fit only to be in the bottom position, while am to be in the superior one.' Lilith responded, 'We are equal to each other inasmuch as we were both created from the earth.' But they would not listen to one another. When Lilith saw this, she pronounced the Ineffable Name and flew away into the air."

For those thinking you cannot mix Jewish myth and the bible... half the bible is of Jewish origin.

Lilith. She refused to take a subserviant position ( she wanted to be on top).

She was created equal in Genisis 1:27during the day sof creation, then after she was gone eve was created in 2:20-22 which seems to be after the seven days, when Adam got lonely.

There are un-Biblical legends that Adam had a wife before Eve who was named Lilith. The legends vary significantly, but they all essentially agree that Lilith left Adam because she did not want to submit to him. According to the legends, Lilith was an evil, wicked woman who committed adultery with Satan and produced a race of evil creatures. None of this is true. There is no Biblical basis whatsoever for these concepts. There is no one in the Bible named Lilith. Genesis chapter 1 does not record the creation of Lilith with Genesis chapter 2 recording the creation of Eve. Rather, Genesis chapter 2 is a "closer look" at the creation of Adam and Eve as recorded in Genesis chapter 1. The Bible specifically says that Adam and Eve were the first human beings ever created (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:18-25). This "Lilith" myth is popular in some radical feminist movements because Lilith is an example of a woman refusing to submit to male headship.

Lillith was a strong willed Woman that would not put up with Adam ruling her. Lillith was the one that found Cain after he was sent out for killing able and Lillith taught Cain to survive.Lillithian myth and legend can also be read in the book of Nod and the Book of the dead. (No, not the same book) Lillith also bore Cain's child in the book of Nod

Lillith was a hot and serious beotch. Adam had self esteem problems and whined to daddy to get rid of her, he wanted a less intelligent and passive woman. Look what happened then, the snake, the apple, etc. Eve wasn't the brightest bulb in the pack. Adam was not a braniac either.
There are a lot of other interesting deleted scenes in the apochripha that were not included in the "authorized bible".

I remember reading about another wife. Adam watched God make her and seeing the gore of it all was a big turn off for him and he couldn't find her attractive. I believe this was a seperate wife from Lilith.

I'd heard of it before. I asked a question about Lilith on here not long ago and got some interesting links. You should try googling her. (I like her better than Eve.)
