Tattoos are forever.
If you are on this site asking strangers what to get on your body, you are not ready for a tattoo.
It has nothing to do with age.
Dont get a tattoo just to get one; that is stupid.
Get soemthing you want that means soemthing to you so that you won't regret it later in life.
What are you interested in? What things are signifigant to you?

First of all to all the people saying to get a butterfly or Chinese symbol how predictable can you become? Or Getting your name on your arm.. COME ON PEOPLE... talk about trashy not to mention she is 13 years old. I am 22 and i waited until i was 18 to get a tattoo that had significant meaning to me that i knew every other person would not have and I would enjoy for a long time to come. No 13 year old should be given the opportunity by their parents to get a tattoo. However, if you do feel like you absolutely must get a tattoo you should probably not ask someone else's opinion on a tattoo you have to live with and do not get the stupid typical tramp stamp that every other person is walking around with. But i would suggest waiting a few more years

Like other people have said, what you may want on your body now will likely embarass you in later years. When I was 16 I desperately wanted a tattoo; at 21, I'm so thankful that I didn't do it then.
You shouldn't get a tattoo just to "get one" or to show off. Do you really want a flower, cartoon, fairy, butterfly, chinese symbol... JUST like the billion other people that have the exact same thing? It's tacky, unoriginal and has no meaning behind it, despite what you'll try to justify to yourself and others. I work at a tattoo studio, and let me tell you from experience, your tattoo artists will be laughing at your choice behind your back... that is, if you can actually find a tattoo artist morally devoid enough to tattoo you in the first place (with or without your parent's consent; my studio, as an example, would refuse service to you.)
If you get it in a place "where people can see it," it may hurt your abilities to get a job down the line... or even to be taken seriously as a person.
Tattoos hurt more or less depending on where you get them. One on my stomach only burned as I got it, while the ones on my back and legs felt like someone was scraping my skin off with a cheese grater, over and over.
Honestly, think about it a LOT more before you get it done. "Really cool" isn't a good reason to get a tattoo at all, and years later, you will WITHOUT A DOUBT regret it. At your age, your tattoo will also become stretched and distorted as you get older.
And finally, to you and every girl on the planet-- STOP getting tacky butterflies, kanji symbols, suns, and tribal on your lower back!! The most laughable of the tattoos is the "tramp stamp," it's typical and cheesy. You may think yours is different... but you're wrong. Don't do it.

A tattoo is something that is not reversible. Think about when you're 60 and your skin starts to wrinkle and you can't figure out what the tattoo is anymore.
Why on earth would a parent let a 13 year old get a tattoo, anyway? Brilliant idea.

Sorry...but i have to say that you are too young! If your parents are really allowing this, they are irresponsible parents! First off, you are 13 and still have a lot of growing to do, which may distort a tatoo by the time you are an adult and second you're 13 and you're immature(no offense intended). what you like today, you may hate next week. I think you should wait. Also, tatoos can be painful but it depends where you get it.

It is a very personal preference when it comes to what you want your tattoo to look like! Usually they will have books full of samples you can look at. I got one with a crescent moon and a star, with a raven sitting on the moon! It is scratchy when you get it done, but its not all that bad. I will tell you though, that after you get your tattoo, the best thing you can put on it is the NIVEA creamy conditioning oil! It is the most soothing, and it doesn't burn like alot of the other products they tell you to use! Try it, and I hope you like it as much as I did! Good luck and have fun!

Okay, yes it hurts a little, depends on where it is. Get it at a professional shop and look at their personal art, not the book of pattern designs, but ones they have done. It's best to get a direct referal from someone you know who loved their own tat.
Get it somewhere easy to cover and uncover with clothes, like the shoulder where tanks show it and shirts don't.
Try something that will always represent you or someone you love (mom, dad, etc.) like your astrology symbol or initials. Don't go with something you really love now, like cats or flowers, as this will almost definately change. Remember, not too much detail, as it will stretch and distort as you grow.
Best of luck.

I am very sad that at the age of 13 you are going to get a permanent tattoo on your skin. Yes is does hurt major and whether you want to hear that you are too young or not, you are definately too young. I do hope you won't live to regret your decision. I would also question your parents parenting skills to allow you to do this. Very sad!

There are lots of different thing you could get make sure it's something you really like, or you could draw something up your self or have the artist draw something up for you, I can't say if it will hurt or not, i have on on my shoulder and one on my arm they didn't hurt but it depends on the person they could hurt or you could just feel a little discomfort, i hope this helps you out some and good luck
