Thanks, I'm a 40's guy, a widow. I've been e mailing a 40's girl I met on Yahoo personals for about 6 wks. now. We've talked about a lot! And we want to talk on the phone. I gave her my cell And home phone numbers. And she says "I'll call you and I'll block my number because I am a woman and there are some crazies out there". I could maybe understand this a month ago. But 54 e mails and I'm not trusted? I need some advice! Girls and guys, I want to hear both sides!

I think it's OK if she decided to block her number the first time she called you. But mentioning it explicitly is simply rude. That, or she feels like 14 around you :-) I don't really understand it, maybe I'm naive, but what can you possibly do to her over the phone, in any case?

Well, don't freak out about it yet. Just relax. 54 e-mails ARE a lot but genuine trust takes a little longer. Have you guys exchanged photos over the Internet or done web cam? Maybe if she sees you are real then she can trust you. I'm assuming she hasn't given you her number either, so she's probably still deciding if she can trust you. Give her time, some of us girls are the kind who like to "take our time".
The other side of the story is that maybe she isn't ready to chat with you on the phone. If she was, she'd already have given you her number. I mean, why would she agree to it if she couldn't trust you?

But we don't know her-you do. So you should talk to her to find out what's going on.

Arrange a meeting in a public place that's the only way she'll start trusting you. I would feel the same way . Go ahead arrange a date somewhere out in the open. The sooner the better for the both of you. Good Luck.
Merry Christmas and a Very, Happy New Year!

I can understand her doing it still (By the way, I'm a 41 year old female), because she may have chatted with some crazies already, and learned the hard way to be more cautious. After all, people can be anyone they want to be on the internet. It is unfortunate, that people have to be so cautious these days, but it is certainly understandable. Don't take it as a mark against you...just take it as maybe she has been burned already and doesn't want it to happen again. Good luck!

I think this is her way in being safe. Some times you can not tell something's about some one by just chatting over the internet. Don't feel that you are not trusted. Trust is earned, she will give you the digits when she is ready.

sorry dude but I think she is totally wrong. I'd do the same thing. maybe she's had a bad experience and needs to have the sence of security. don't take it as not being trusted. 54 emails is not the same as face to face meetings...

she still has a point dude. there are alot of crazy people out ther and crazy people go to crazy lengths to do crazy things, thats why they are crazy. think of it this way. if you were dating her in person for 6 weeks, would you give her spare key to your place? no you wouldnt cos you cant fully trust her yet. if you really like her, this shouldnt be a big deal. just be patient dude.

all you hear about is how online preditors work. cut her a little slack. she is probably just nervous. its a whole lot easier to type a message than it is to say it. she will be fine. good luck
