Hi,
I am a pretty girl. The problem is I need to gain weight. I've been tiny forever but in the past lost to much weight and it's been hell trying to gain it back. I've never been over 100 lbs though.
I am 21 years old, 5ft 4 weighing in at 90 lbs. I bought a protein muscle builder powder stuff that has 2,555 calories in just 1 shake (4 scoops of powder) from GNC. The guy said to eat normal and drink 1 shake a day and that 1 of those has the amount of calories most people get in a whole day. Do you think I will gain weight? I want to gain 10-15 lbs. How long will it take in estimate??? Thanks baby!

I feel bad for you. Too many people scoff at someone who has issues with trying to gain weight. It can be pretty tough.

I think the recommendation you got was great. You'll definitely gain and hopefully won't get heartburn from the protein drink. Some people have trouble with whey protein and I'm assuming it is made from whey. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

It's hard to say how quickly you'll gain because I don't know what your meals contain, how much exercise you do or how quick your metabolism runs but if I had to guess I'd say at least a couple of pounds per week. That assumes that the meals you eat keep you at a level weight. This shake that has 2,555 calories would be 17,885 calories per week if you drink it daily. With 3500 calories equal to a pound that could mean 5 lbs. per week, although everyone is somewhat different. Just make sure you don't cut back at mealtime.

Once you gain the desired amount of weight you'll just have to figure out how much of the shake you need daily to keep from losing it again.

Good luck!

yes, high fat diets are terriblle for you. not sure if your trying to gain muscle or fat though? if your trying to add muscle mass then your on the right track, somewhat. try splitting your meals up into 5 small meals a day with 2 of those meals being protein shakes. if you weigh 100 pounds try to consume at least your body weight in protein. this will make sure you won't loose the muscle you have now. but try to at least consume 150 grams of protein and 20 grams of good carbs per meal. learn to weigh and measure your food. there are plenty of free calculators on the net to use to make sure how much you need.

good proteins.
lean beef
chicken
tuna, fish
cottage cheese
nuts..almonds
natural peanutbutter

good carbs.
rice (brown or white)
potatos
rice cakes
rasins

again..you should at least try to workout 3 times a week with a meal plan such as this.

you can lose a lot but not that much. There is 90 days to lose 100 pounds, and a pound of fat is 3,500 calories. Your body doesnt need that many calories in a day, so even if you did not eat for 3 months you cant do it. You can still win the bet, just lose as much weight as possible but also try to tone your muscle and maybe you can get the 6.

To gain 10-15 pounds healthy would about 2- 3 months

Why did you loose weight? Have you been seen by the doc? It can be a thyroid or other medical problem.

When you do eat extra, make sure it is healthy. Even if you need to gain weight, an extremely high fat diet is not good for your health.

Your doing right by eating 3 meals a day. If you could snack in between meals that might help also. Eating at night seems to pack on the pounds also.
