I apologize for going overboard on the exclamation marks, but I wanted to catch someone's attention quickly..

But anyways, my two Pomeranians managed to get around a 4-ounce chocolate pack and eat the whole thing, wrapper and all.

I only realized that they had been snacking on them around a while later, when they had all finished with it. My first Pom is 1 and a half years old, and is 6 and a half pounds - I think that she ate around 2 pieces. My 2nd is 5 months old, and ate around the same, I'm assuming. The latter is only 3 pounds.

At the moment, they're both fine - but I've heard too many scary stories about dogs eating chocolate, so I'm still very worried. I called all of the vets in my neighborhood, and no one has answered so far, and I can't drive myself to one since I'm 12. There's also no adults who can drive me there around at the moment, either.

The type of chocolate was Ferrero Rocher - if that information bit helps any.

But, will they probably be okay? Please help.

Chocolate is more concern if the dogs are small which yours are.
Dark Chocolate and Baker's Chocolate are the worst.
A client of mine lost a Maltese to DARK CHOCOLATE when her dog ate some she had in a bowl on the table.
I am not sure how much chocolate or what type is in Ferrero Rocher.
It is not true that a dog will only react if they are "allergic" to chocolate. It is all about amount consumed, type consumed and size of the dog.
I had a German Shepherd Dog that ate a whole bag full of those miniature chocolate bars, foil wrappers and all. She dididn't get sick. The Vet said she may get diarrhea but should be okay since she was a big dog and it wasn't Baker's Chocolate. She was fine. No diarrhea either.
Here is what to look for that would indicate toxic amount of chocolate:
Within a few hrs, hyperactive, vomiting, diarrhea, maybe some muscle twitching, panting
This can escalate into muscle spasms, coma and death.
I don't want to spook you here because they may be fine but you really need to talk to a Vet, try calling an animal Emergency Clinic and tell them all you said here. Better safe than sorry.

Ive got a pomeranian also and it has ate chocolate before. I sometimes give her a little bit it doesnt bother her at all. Ive always been told its just depends if the dog is allergic to anything that is made in chocolate which my dog isnt but not all dogs are like mine ya kno. If they are acting fine at the moment just keep a good eye on them for the next few days makes sure they are eatting regularly and getting enough water. I believe they should be fine though they didnt eat that much. But if they start acting weird you will need to get them to the vet asap

I would give him some peroxide, not more than 1/8 of a cup, and see if he throws it up. If it was dark chocolate or baking chocolate, keep an eye on him for the next few days for seizures or neurological problems. My Min-Pin ate a bunch of Oreos and was fine for about 4 days and then went into a sudden grand-mal seizure. That was the first time we discovered that chocolate poisoning isn't instantaneous. He should be fine though. Just keep an eye on him and if he developed severe loose stools, continued vomiting (more than an hour after the peroxide) or neurological problems. One more thing, when you give him the peroxide, do it outside. They will throw up almost instantly. I hope you're boy is okay!

I have Min Pins and they are small dogs also and I caught 2 of them eating a crunch bar a peice and when i caught them they had almost the whole thing ate and i was also scared as you are but i called my vet and she told me to watch them and if they start to act like they are very hyper or twiching then to bring them and so i watch them for the next 4 hours and nothing happen to them so im sure your little dogs will be fine too it mostly the baking chocolate that will hurt a dog so the kind that your dogs ate isnt strong enough to hurt them so i would just watch them and dont worry they will be fine,, And you are wonderful cause I have yet to hear about a person as young as you be so concern about their dogs so you are very mature for your age and your parents need to be very proud of you cause i sure am,,, And just calm down and have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

They'll be fine, just meaner then usual. My dog got into chocolate not too long ago, and was very snappy for a day or two.

If they start acting weird, besides the meaness, take them to a vet. Some dogs have allergic reactions to the ingrediants in chocolate bars.

Keep an eye on them. My mums chiuahaha once ate a whole block of chocolate, she was very sick but she was ok. Just watch for signs of heavy breathing or stress. If they throw up, great, thats what you want them to do. They should be ok sweetie. Im so pleased to see a young person who really cares about her animals! If they look really sick like they cant breathe then can you ring your parents? Another family member? Really they should be fine, they should throw it up or get the runs and be ok, but on the chance it does go badly I hope you have someone you can call.

Keep a close eye on them. At the first sign of throwing up, I would call the vet. I have always been told that dogs can die of chocolate. I have heard 2 ounces can kill a dog, but I think it also depends on the dog. Please take them in as soon as possible if they get sick. You may have to pay after hours fees, but it is worth it. Let me know how everything turns out. I am a big dog lover.

If its been under 2 hours, you need to make them vomit. If you have any hydrogen peroxide, give each of them a tablespoon and wait 10 minutes or so. If nothing happens, give them another. Chocolate is toxic, especially in small dogs, so the faster you can get them to vomit, the better. Put them on linoleum or outside to vomit, and the most they'll get is an upset stomach..... Trust me, I'm a vet tech.
