Because God gave man free will.....and they f*cked it up. If God did something about it, he'd be violating our free will.

People of various religions have gone to their religious leaders and teachers to ask why there is so much suffering. Often, the response is that suffering is God’s will and that he long ago determined everything that would ever happen, including tragic events. Many are told that God’s ways are mysterious or that he brings death upon people—even children—so that he can have them in heaven with him. As you have learned, though, Jehovah God never causes what is bad. The Bible says: “Far be it from the true God to act wickedly, and the Almighty to act unjustly!”—Job 34:10.
Do you know why people make the mistake of blaming God for all the suffering in the world? In many cases, they blame Almighty God because they think that he is the real ruler of this world. They do not know a simple but important truth that the Bible teaches. The real ruler of this world is Satan the Devil.
The Bible clearly states: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (1Â John 5:19) When you think about it, does that not make sense? This world reflects the personality of the invisible spirit creature who is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9) Satan is hateful, deceptive, and cruel. So the world, under his influence, is full of hatred, deceit, and cruelty. That is one reason why there is so much suffering.
A second reason why there is so much suffering is that, mankind has been imperfect and sinful ever since the rebellion in the garden of Eden. Sinful humans tend to struggle for dominance, and this results in wars, oppression, and suffering. (Ecclesiastes 4:1; 8:9)
A third reason for suffering is “time and unforeseen occurrence.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11) In a world without Jehovah as a protective Ruler, people may suffer because they happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

As a human being I have to except some of the responsibity for the mess that is the world. So do you and every other person that has ever lived. God made the world a perfect place. Then Sin and rebellion entered and God gave us the oppertunity to chose life or keep on the wide road and end up in destrustion. Too many havr taken the wide road and taken the world along for the ride.

What is going on in the world was not caused by God. God gave man a free will and man used that will for the bad. Hunger, homelessness, poverty, and any other bad thing was caused by the person or their ancestors disobeying God. It has to do with us and what we do on our own. God wants the best for us, but if we don't obey Him...well...you get the picture.

Because people question whether there is a God. If people would acknowledge God and realize that He expects us to act as He told us to, the world would not be the way it is.

Many have been perplexed because sin and its author, Satan, still exist. Some even charge God with the responsibility for it since He permitted sin, God is Good, Merciful, and All-Powerful but He is also Love. Each created being was endowed with Freedom of Choice. God wants people to serve Him because they choose to do so and not because they cannot do otherwise.

The Bible tells us of two prime reasons why the world is as it is.
Firstly, the rebellion in the garden of Eden raised the issue of Jehovah's sovereignity;ie Jehovah's right to rule over mankind, and
Secondly,Satan and his demons have been thrown out of heaven to the vicinity of the earth.
The result of these events is evident all around us today.Jehovah has had to allow sufficient time for man to try every form of self rule in order to not leave any doubt that man needs God ruling over him.Had Jehovah just destroyed Adam and Eve after they had sinned and just started again, the issues raised would have remain unanswered. We need to also keep in mind that there would have been millions of angels watching events unfold in Eden.Jehovah does promise, though, that He will restore peace and harmony very soon and obedient mankind will have the wonderful prospect of everlasting life. This was God's original purpose for man.He created Adam and Eve in perfect health, actually designed them to live forever. Then He placed them in a beautiful garden paradise and told them to be friutful and multiply and fill the earthFrom fulfillment of Bible prophecy,we can discern, that the time is drawing very close when these things will occur.God promises to do away with pain and suffering, hunger and death. The earth will once again be a paradise. The dead will be resurrected. Many many blessings to be had.
The other reason why there has been and still is so much violence, hatred, disunity, greed etc on the earth is that at Rev.12:7-9 tells us that war broke out in heaven and Satan and his demons were thrown out of heaven and to the vicinity of the earth. They are down here, with great anger, knowing that their time is running out, because, when peace and harmony are restored back on the earth Satan and his demons will be locked up for a thousand years, before being released again for a short period and then finally be destroyed for all time.
There is so much more to say on this topic. If you are interested in learning what the Bible has to say, please contact your local kingdom hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, who would be more than happy to help you.

What? Is this world not perfect? Lao Tzu once said everything is a spiritual instrument of Heaven... (just as it is)
Mr. Tzu wasn't talking about Christian Heaven or the Christian God... the comment is on nature's perfect wisdom.

because there are willful , selfish people, and it is that same selfishness that prompts this same question over and over again.
What God created was good- but He did not create robots and He is not 'bringing up brats' He has given us a will to make choices and unfortunately poor choices are going to affect other people- He also expects us to be accoutable and responsible for our poor choices- not expect Him to clean up after us and let us continue on a destructive rampage. Think about disciplined children as opposed to undisciplined children- think aobut kids whose parents cover and correct their mistakes never letting them learn anything. God is a God of order - there is always going to be consequences for sin and there will always be those who fight it.

Because we sin with our freewill and Lucifer thinks he can be a better god so we have to choose between God and Lucifer in the end. Lucifer is already deceiving us right now so that we'll choose him in the end but if you stay close with God and be on His team you'll have a sure win.
