God created a male (Adam) and a female (Eve) to be together in the garden and reproduce. Once mankind fell, men's hearts continuously followed evil. They rejected God's natural order and did (and do) all manner of evil, whatever delights them.
...Homosexuality was once considered a deviant lifestyle by the medical professionals, but try as they might, they were unable to change (cure) them. Since they failed to cure them, they have accepted it as a valid and alternate lifestyle, and slowly it is creeping in our culture - the gays are demanding recognition, marriage rights, full acceptance in careers, medical care, and want to adopt children also, even though they are unable to produce any themselves.

Corinthians 6:
...9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
...10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers

The Centers for Disease Control (hardly a right-wing outfit) reports that the average life span of male homosexuals is 41 years. I can only think that this is a lifestyle that is very destructive to the body, and certainly shortens the average male lifespan by about half, if you consider that heterosexual males live between 70 and 80 years. It is well-known that most homosexuals have many partners, increasing the risk of disease.
...I cannot understand how the homosexual lifestyle can be considered beneficial and good, especially if it will kill you early.

Homosexuality is natural for many people, and as Freud encouraged, gay people who are able to accept their sexual orientation are able to live productive and well-adjusted lives.

The American Psychiatric Association dropped homosexuality as a mental illness because the could no longer justify that there was a negative impact of homosexuality on an individual, but instead that any negative impacts arose from cultural pressures.

When the culture is sick, it is better to diagnose the culture than the individual.

EDIT:

The citation of the "Center for Disease Control" is a F***ing Lie. If you're willing to resort to distortions of truth just to have your bigoted lifestyle affirmed, then there will be no chance to have a dialogue about this stuff. This bogus "data" comes from a study of obituaries conducted by anti-gay author Paul Cameron. He surveyed obituaries in Gay newspapers and determined that gay men were dying at around 41. The research methodology was extremely flawed, and has no statistical validity. Bill Bennet was raked over the coals for using it in a government paper. If you consider yourself intelligent, you should look at your data before considering it valid, and he failed to do so.

Whoa, that's interesting, you would deny a child a home because you don't agree with a persons lifestyle? Not drugs, or alcoholism, or even a history of abuse, but because they choose to spend their life with a person of the same sex. That's very interesting. BTW Homosexuality doesn't stop them from reproducing, just ask my grandparents. They had kids, and they are both homosexual and of opposite sex. But, seriously, the answer to your question is this, I am not sure that I believe in God. That allows me a life of acceptance. You see, unlike you, I can live my life peacefully. I am not required to dislike someone because they don't live as I do. Is isn't about supporting homosexuality, it's about supporting PEOPLE. It's funny to me, several years ago, this same question might have been asked about anyone who wasn't white. It's OK though, give it a few years. People who think like you will be the minority, if you aren't already. One of these days, you will be laughed at for asking a question like this. Acceptance comes with time, and soon, the gay community will be accepted as the normal, everyday people they are.

Your question isn't well thought out, and is insulting to a very large number of people. You deserve a mature answer. You are a bigot, and should devote your time into reading other parts of the Bible, like that parts that tell you not to judge others, etc. You, as a member of society should respect others, as well, or it may happen that someday your beliefs are not respected.
Most scientific experts believe that there are genes which make people homosexual, whether you believe it or not, really isn't important, but your Bible tells you to respect others, and you might spend the rest of your life searching out where Christ, himself, EVER said one word against homosexuality.
If you want to be a fundamentalist, fine, be one; but be a good one and stop picking and choosing what you are going to believe in the Bible, which will tell YOU to stop judging others.
If you are interested a couple of interesting things have been added for your perusal.

God has directed YOU to evangelize, not chase people away from the Lord. Shame on you. Also, do you consider yourself RIGHTEOUS?? Are you willing to argue that point with Jesus??

Modern society is the society of accommodation -- political correctness and etcetera.

Granted, not everyone believes in the Bible and not everyone believes that homosexuality is deviant. Yet, in the 2004 elections, the issue of homosexuality was strong enough to turn the results in favor of the Republican party -- so obviously even "moderate" people hold their feelings in that regard.

The bottom line, however, is that God gives people the right to make their choices... and people will have to live with the consequences of their choices whether good or bad. We should have better things to do (like feeding the hungry, helping those who are hurting) than attacking people whom we disagree with.

You sound terrified. Why are you so threatened by gays? Are you that unsure of your own sexuality?
The legitimate psychiatric community (the one run by scientists, not ministers) stopped classifying homosexuality as a disorder because they figured out no one chooses to be homosexual. That poses no threat to society in general. Most sex crimes are perpetrated by HETEROSEXUAL MALES, and pedophiles most often victimize their own family members (I used to work as a nurse in corrections, and I was a psychiatric nurse for a lot of years, so I know what I'm talking about). As for them adopting children: True, they can't produce their own. Given the fact the earth is overpopulated anyway, and there are thousands of children who need good parents, I fail to see the problem. There are a lot of heterosexual parents out there who are drug abusers, alcoholics, thieves, adulterers, or who just walk away from their kids. Bad parenting isn't exclusive to one community.
*Edit* BTW, accepting homosexuals as part of the human race without judgement does not constitute "support." What it means is: Live and let live.

Very cute, but you're forgetting that your religion is not true to everyone. I don't buy the Adam and Eve story and neither does more than 50% of the world. So go ahead and believe your Adam and Eve story if you want to, but the rest of us will be here in the real world, should you ever decide to find logic.

And I support equal rights for homosexuals because who am I to say they aren't as human as the rest of us? For that matter, who are YOU to be saying that as well?

You can't cure homosexuality any more than you can cure heterosexuality. It's not a disease, it's just the way some people are. I'm not gay but I'm not a homophobe either. And if you presume to quote scripture maybe you should check out the golden rule.

Gay/lesbian people do not have a CHOICE about same-sex attraction. It is NOT some disease that can be cured. In case people have not noticed, with heads up their judgemental rear ends, gays/lesbians are no less human than heteros, and as far as life outside the bedroom is concerned, they are every bit the contributors on their jobs and any other pursuit they undertake - as much as heteros are.

Try having a conversation and getting to know human beings before passing judgement. Also, what if you happen to be related to someone who is gay? Do you just not love them because they have a different sexual preference? How hypocritical is that???

you have to remember not everyone holds to the bible, many choose not to live by that code. You may see the bible as the word of god, a moral code for life or a book of nonsense, everyone has their own opinion. What i dont agree with and i REALLY dont agree with .. is those that want to live by the bible and are gay as you rightly say, there is no place for homosexuality in the bible. I have no issues with it, and firmly believe each to their own, but hypocrisy is not a way to live and if you want to adear to the bible you cannot be homosexual.

Don't be an idiot.

Because homosexuality isn't wrong.

Honestly, why do Christians think that the bible is an "explanation" or "proof" of anything?

The only thing the bible is, is a book written by mankind when we still believed the world was flat and monsters roamed any areas we hadn't yet explored.

Don't you have anything else? Why do you think the bible is going to prove anything to someone that doesn't believe in your bible? Don't you see the illogic in that?

Its like me saying that ghosts exist. See, I know they exist but I don't expect you to believe me just because I said so or because someone wrote down in a book that they're real. That would be illogical and stupid.

The only way you'd believe is either a ghost appears to you or someone gives you real scientific proof of them.

So why don't yall just stop trying to use the bible? Either come up with something tangible and real or give it up
