I work in a small Optical office and a man threw me up against a wall and put his arms around me and tried to kiss me after saying some very suggestive things to me. I got away and he told me "I better not get anything that is not coming to me" and walked out. This man did not seem very educated. I also found out he tried to do this to another woman today but got away before he did anything to her. What should I do?

YOU must report it. Whether it was a person off the street or a employee or patient. You have the right to be safe and secure in the work place. Your doctor or immediate supervisor needs to be called now! not tomorrow. The longer you wait the more time the perp has to find another victim to possibly destroy or hurt seriously. This could be mentally or physically. Call the police if that seems more comfortable to you. The world is a pitiful place and we can only work on keeping it safe. Just remember, it could be a child or teen next time with no ability to stop him. Stay safe.

Well, what do you think you should do? By now, you should know to tell someone and call the police. If you are just looking for reassurement then I guess you are getting it. Wow, I can't believe you have not done anything about this yet and you are typing it on yahoo. The next person he tries to do this to may not get away. They may be fondled or worse. So please get off the computer and call the police. He is a sexual predator, no matter how educated or under educated he is. --He is still a threat to women and maybe children. Call the police now Please!! Good luck.

Gosh I know how you must feel! It's a mixture of shock, disgust, and a feeling of being vandalized.

A few years ago, while working at Kids R Us, some guy came in and started talking to me and seem really interested in my name tag.. he kept grabbing my name tag, asking how I say my name - well five times later, it dawned on me that he wasn't JUST touching my name tag -he was touching my chest if you know what I mean. I was so shocked I just ran to the store's office and reported it to my manager. Of course they were just like oh and didn't even do anything. The guy left - I was so scared he'd wait for me after work or something, but I never saw him again.

Report it to your boss and the police even. But sadly, there probably isn't much anyone can do about these types of sickos. Just have to learn to prepare yourself for these things (if that's even possible!)... It's a sad world we live in.

First of all, the definition of sexual harrassment:

"Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when this conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an individual's employment, unreasonably interferes with an individual's work performance, or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment."

One of several criteria for determining if harrassment has occurred, is that "the harrasser's conduct must be unwelcome".

You should inform the harrasser, on the spot, that their conduct is unwelcome and must stop. Then, immediately report the incident to your supervisor. If your supervisor is unwilling or unable to acknowledge your complaint, report the incident to his or her superior, or another supervisor.

Report him. It'll take some guts but you could be saving an innocent someone from a lot of embarrasment, humilitation, and overall harm. This guy is a worm. He deserves to be exposed as such.

Report him! Meanwhile, warn the other woman in your office just in case.

I would press charges.

This guy must have been there for his glasses--surely you can narrow down his id!
If you get him locked up, he can't do that to anyone else!!!
