So everyone who doesn't agree with you is close-minded? I'm the most open-minded person I know. I looked into Christianity, and other religions as well, before dismissing them all. I'm willing to change my mind, given some evidence in some direction. But I haven't seen any. You say you're a devout Christian - what would make you change your mind? And if nothing would, which of us is more close-minded?

I think it is all because we judge each other. We should really all mind our own business. I understand that people feel the need to 'witness' to me, but in my opinion, you had better be sure of what the heck you're talking about. So many times christians have come up to me to try to convert me to christianity, and they really don't know what they're talking about. They're obviously excited and want to share it with the world, but you cannot just take the word of some preacher at a pulpit. YOU need to study and learn and grow and find things out for yourself. Before you come knockin on my door, you need to be able to confidently back up your claims. Jesus was a great guy though. I have nothing against modern christianity, except for the stupidity that usually accompanies it.

I haven't a clue because neither are doing their causes any good . . . I love the christians who ride in here on their self-righteous high horses and pass judgment on everyone else. What happened to judge not, do unto others, etc.
Town clown got it exactly right - and yes, peace does seem light years away
doesn't it? It's sad. The lack of tolerance and respect is incredible.

Christians cannot convert, that is between one person and God. However, non Christians will go to hell. How can one be a devout Christian and not try to witness?
I witness because I love people, not because I look down on them or think 'my way is better." It is not my way, it is God's way...

What you consider to be bashing is probably just a rational argument against your God. People are offended because most of the arguments are in the Atheist's favor.
What you see as us trying to steal you away from God we see as trying to make the world a better place.

you know what, I whole heartedly agree with you, and I'm not a Christian
I'm getting a little tired of all the judgemental attitudes that I come across on here....from people condemning others for whatever behaviours or way of life they partake in, to just mocking people for whatever they believe in
I don't agree with a lot of religious philosphy, but I respect that's how people want to live their lives, so equally, by the same token, they should respect how other people wish to live theirs
and that goes for everyone, religious, and non-religious alike
peace on Earth seems like a distant dream away huh?

Atheists,i believe are hateful to christians, b/c christians are hateful to them. If christians would remember to act like disciples of Christ, with love, kindness, forgiveness,nonjudgemental--then perhaps the atheist would respond to us more in a friendly way.

Define converting..I want to share the Love of Jesus,,does that mean I am converting?? I don't think so but others take it as pushing it down their throats..I can't help it if my passion is Jesus...
