"Hee haw and Merry Christmas," he said, highly relieved that we weren't having to stand up on stage anymore. "Pass me a doughnut!" I shook my head, a bit disturbed. "I hope you are joking. Why would I do something for you? You totally ignored me when I asked you to say some more lines with me." He shook his head now. "But we were on a break! Didn't you hear the director? Coffee break, five minutes. And I want a doughnut. Pass me one, will ya? Be a pal?" I grinned. "I see your point... though it's a bit moronic. We could still rehearse, you know, despite the coffee break. I really want to be good in this part!" He grinned back at me and took my hand in his. "Of course you'll be great in the play," he assured me. "You are always great." That's when I thought to myself... Now, what would Miss Kitty and Marshal Dillon do in a situation like this? I could just see it... He as the tall handsome Dillon and me as the pretty Miss Kitty. He would guide me under the mistletoe and there he would say, again, "Merry Christmas." And then... I laughed out loud. "Aw, who needs mistletoe?!" He was awful surprised, and I laughed again. Then we kissed. The director called for us to start rehearsing again, but we didn't quite hear until the third time he called. We were chagrined but I tell you what, we did a fantastic job in the play.
