WOW! I went to ; http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/
to check if other Camry owners were formally complaining about the dash lighting specifically, well .....what I found was 88 customer complaints submitted formally to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration!
That is A LOT for a vehicle that has only been out for about 6 months!!!!!!!
Many of these complaints are for MAJOR componants.
SCARRY!!!!
Check out the Ford Fusion ...only 12 minor complaints the first model year (2006) & 0 complaints for 07 model.

If you compare the Camry to the Saturn Aura, the Aura, will win by a longshot. If you get the V6 on a base Camry, it will cost more than getting the top of the line Aura XR with STANDARD V6 and automatic transmission. Thats not even including all the little options the Aura comes standard with. Its the next big thing waiting to happen in the automotive world. Once the public finds out about these things they wont be able to keep them on the lot. In customer (and professional) reviews the Saturn wins, and its not even close. Even with all the excitement it has caused in the enthusiast world, JD Power is yet to rate it, and is not included in many head on tests. The Saturn is also an rebadged Opel, giving it European looks and feel. Cars.com has great reviews by consumers and pros. The CAmry has already had a recall, while the Aura is clean of problems. Toyotas recent past should give you some clues, and its not what you think. Last year Toyota had the most recalls, but the media "failed" to notice since millions would stand against them because of thier reputation. These days reputation is nothing, technology advances so fast it cant keep up. For ex: three years ago GM was one of the worst companies, now they have the most top-rated vehicles, and the quality/reliability surpasses Toyota. Honda is still on top of the reliability ratings. Ford also had more recalls than GM and DaimlerChrysler combined, for reasons like exploding engines and wheels falling off. Here is a quote from the Washington Posts review of the Toyota CAmry "one of which is the Chevrolet Malibu, which in my real-world driving experience has been every bit as good and reliable as the much-ballyhooed Camry but has been maligned primarily because it is a Chevrolet". Oddly enough that was an '04 Malibu VS the totally redisigned '07 Camry. Common problems with Toyotas are useless cupholders, cheap stereo, grotesquely underpowered 4 cylinder engine, and plastic rattling until it falls off. People then complain that when they take it to the dealer to be fixed they just say "The cars are made with so much plastic its practically impossible to fix" GM is also the worlds fastest growing manufacturer, and that doesnt happen by accident. Read these reviews (search lowest first on both and you will see which has more problems)
Saturn Aura:

Toyota Camry:

http://research.cars.com/go/crp/research.jsp?year=2007&makeid=47&modelid=424§ion=consumerreviews#reviews
Then test drive them both and see which is best, I guarantee you will pick the Aura.

About a month ago, we test-drove the 07 Camry and a Kia Sedona minivan. Being a young person and an absolute Toyota loyalist, I liked the Camry a LOT better. For the CE, LE, and XLE, the read-out illumination is a light blue color that looks almost white. know what I mean? Then for the SE, it's a little different layout and a darker blue to be sportier. The test drive was at night and it didn't seem distracting at all. It's peaceful, luxurious, and sporty. And trust me, you want the Camry! Our 2000 has almost 125,000 miles on it and still RPMing with no repairs.

I don't think the blue dashboard lighting is distractive. Actually I think it's quite nice.
I've driven both the SE and XLE V6 trims and they are very nice cars. It's refined and fast.
Only complaint I would have is that I wish the XLE V6 models had larger rims. I have a 2005 XLE V6 Camry and I like the rims on my car better.

well the car companys are trying color that dont distract you at night ,blue is alot easier to look at then red or yellow lights.plus its a nice feeling cause every time you turn the wheel the lights dont cause you to look down at the dashbord to distract you from the road

Its a much more sporty drive (253 hp V6) I like the new feel. Blue is ok, but I'd prefer it off is that option is avalable.
