I am new to all this, but feel like it just comes naturally to me. I started a new cleansing/blessing ceromony in my apartment. It was pretty simple.
I have oil burners in my living room, bathroom, and bedroom. So I took this little tray I have and put 3 tea light candles on it like a triangle. I also put the scented oil (nag champa in 2, morning glory in the bathroom) on the tray and a small glass of water. I lit incense in the kitchen and bedroom,(also Nag Champa) and grabbed my tray with one candle lit, and my abalone shell with burning sage and started in the kitchen and worked my way to the bedroom, refilling and lighting the oil burners and fanning the sage.
I didn't say anything, I just focused on bringing happiness to the rooms, especially in sad places. I'd concentrate until the negative energy was gone and then move on.
I made this up, and it worked good. Who else does ceremonies like this? And am I chosen to do this, or did I get lucky? Thank you for your answers.

I am a practicing Wiccan and have been for years.
You did close to what I would do. You may be meant to do it. Congratulations on finding your path.

I think you did an awesome job. I would suggest, before you forget what you did, write EVERY step down so you can begin your Book of Shadows. You may remember now, but after performing several cleansings, spells, rituals, blessings, you'll forget this one and you may want to do it again if you ever move. I write down everything I do and keep the ones that worked for my BOS and discard the ones that didn't so I don't confuse them.

Good luck on your path.

Blessed Be.

Great Job!!! You do sound like a natural. I agree with Brookstone on writing things down. I also agree with Pagan Earth Girl that what you come up with on your own out of your own heart is better than getting things just from a book. Some one else said you put in your own creativity and energy...I call it "medicine". You have good and powerful "medicine". Whatever you call it you did great.

You've accomplished a very well done ritual smudging and house blessing all in one ritual. I think it was a bit more than luck. I believe there was also a spiritual memory at work. The right oils the right rooms and the right actions. well done

You did great! You don't need to add words, your feeling and concentration were the most important thing. I have done something like this in each place I have lived and the methods have been different each time - depending on what the space needs. If it's something that feels comfortable and natural for you then you could certainly count it among your blessings.

Blessed be!

Awesome ritual!
The great thing about this way of life is that you follow your intuition.. you do what's right for you.
You connected with Spirit, and that's what really matters. The way you go about it is completely your own and that's why it felt like you were meant to do this... you put your own creativity into it and your own energy.. and it was amazing.

Congratulations!

Many blessings as you follow your path.

Any ceremony or ritual that you create from your own heart will be better and more effective than anything you read in a book. Good job!

It sounds similar to what I did in our new house before we moved in.

A lot of people say that when they read about or practice paganism, that it feels "natural" to them or it "makes sense" or it "feels right" - you're not alone in that regard!!

And definitely follow Brookstone's recommendation to write down your rituals and start a record of them (whether you call it a Book of Shadows, a Journal, or whatever) so that you can refer to it in years to come if you want/need to. =)

Well done. You don't actually have to say anything. Even the items aren't all that important except in the beginning. Items are just items. They're to help you concentrate and focus.
