John 3:16 is a good scripture however people misunderstand and misquote that scripture. The verses before and after that verse are very important to the true meaning of the scripture. If that was all that was needed for salvation then there would not be need for the rest of the Bible, only that one verse would be the Bible. If someone believes in Jesus they will follow His commands that are set out in the Word. If belief that he is who he says and that he exists is all that is needed then Satan and his demons would be saved because they believe he exists.

Satan came an tempted Jesus in the desert for 40 days; we learn this in the Bible. Jesus overcame Satan then and always can.
Satan knows Jesus exists but is such a hot-head, I don't think he'll ever make it back to heaven; that's why he was banished in the first place. There is much information about the overcoming of Satan in the end times of Revelations.
By the way... we show our faith THROUGH action.

That's flawed logic on your part. Sorry.
John 3:16 speaks of "...everlasting LIFE..." But from my understanding, Satan has been condemned to DEATH and is merely awaiting Judgment Day when the sentence will be carried out. Am I wrong??
But you're also correct in your final statement that CERTAIN "Christians" ONLY REQUIRE BELIEF, not action... However, I do wish that you would also BE FAIR to make such a distinction rather than an uninformed, stereotypical, sweeping statement like the one you made.
Thanks for the next ones...
Peace be with you.

NO
Christianity requires belief and deed and salvation is available to all mankind so Satan is excluded. Just confessing you believe in Jesus as the Christ and son of the living God and being baptized is NOT enough.
There are more verses in the Bible than John 3:16

Most certainly! Satan spoke to Jesus directly, and tried to tempt Him three times. Your statement above is not even in the ball park!
Scripture says, " Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." James 2:19.
The words of Jesus in John 3:16,do not apply to and cannot help Satan. Satan was created as a spirit. Jesus' death saved sinners, and condemned Satan! Unlike us, Satan cannot repent!
Read again in the book of James, chapter 2, vs. 26.
Christianity only requires faith! Speak for yourself! Read this!
" For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." So much for your statement!
Angels and Satan cannot sing Amazing Grace!

WRONG!
If Satan believes the words of John 17:3 then will he go to Heaven.
Jesus were Two Thieves crucified by the Romans to rob the Biblical Jews of their Land forever for their breach of the Sabbath for which they begged Pilate to no avail as Pilate tightened the noose around their necks as can be seen in the Middle East even today.

Satan certainly acknowledges the existence of Jesus cf. the temptation text. Whether or not Satan - meaning the Accuser - believes in Jesus as the Savior is not something we are given to know. Revelation suggests satan does not believe in the grace salvation of Christ.
I think you might want to read James in regard to faith not action. Jesus' parable of the sower suggests an expectation of a harvest.

Yes, the Bible says Satan believes in Jesus.
He talked to him and dared him to fly etc.
The Bible says, even the Devil believes.
But, the Lord knows everyone's heart so
Satan will not pull anything over on God.
He will be judged just as the rest of us.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Since he already had the run of Heaven until he was thrown out by Christ at the time of when Christ returned and sat on his Father's throne, why wouldn't he believe Jesus was the Christ? But, because he was never alive, in a human sense, the scripture is not applicable.
