Do you think that getting rid of death altogether will rid world of the belief in gods and an afterlife? Imagine when we are so advanced that the vast majority don't really die? memory upload and cloning will make as finally immortals. All diseases eradicated. If you die they'll just transfer your memory to a computer until they can clone you a new body and then upload all your thoughts. Will people finally stop relying on an afterlife and god so much? what do you think?

I like the way you think! Very real possibility that would change the world as we know it...for the better I think.

I suspect that people who live forever would have an even greater need to find God. Imagine how bored and fed-up we'd be after a 200 year run. I'd guess we'd eventually pray for death, and wish for a shining, perfect heaven. We'd probably have a much greater desire to find meaning in our lives as well. And what about people who never lived up to their own expectations? People who reach adulthood and find that their minds and bodies aren't up to the same standards as others, wouldn't they want a chance to start over somewhere else, in a second life, or in heaven? I'm still young, and I have days when I totally cannot imagine another day on this earth, what with Bush running around starting wars and ignoring the real issues that need real solutions, if I had to put up with 200 years of someone else's disaster, I sure would hope that there was a God up there to finally take me away.

its not death that people are afraid of, but what comes after it!
between the cloning and finding a new body, you may suffer!
by the way, i am sorry to say this, but i think you are a big FOOL!
