Ive suffered from an anxiety disorder and ive been trying to cope with it for a long time now without medicine. I know you guys are probably goin to tell me to go to a therapist, or get on some medicine, but i gotta get me some health insurance first. but yea i think in the near futrue im going to have a breakdown, because now everytime my body has a twitch or a slight sensation of pain in a certain part of my body i automatically assume the worse and then i think i make the sensations stronger by putting my full attention on my body. i just keep thinking that there is somethin seriously wrong with me like cancer or kidney failure, and sometimes my hands twich or spasm so i automatically think its parkinson's or somethin. All of these are exaggerated fears im sure, i just need some comforting words, or similar experiences, cuz right now i feel like im all alone on this. thank you for whatever time you take into reading this, and whatever answers you give.

Aww you are not a lone! I do have a chronic decease that is not fatal but VERY painful (well they say it wont unless it attacks the internal organs). This effects my mental health like you would not believe!
Then with a child who is disabled with autism (and seizures) which is a mental condition I totally one hundred percent understand how you feel!
Insurance is so very important to us who do not have millions in the back account! Working is a no go for me, deformities are setting in.
I can say not to stress, or you will get over it. But at this moment hearing this is not going to help! Keep working on that insurance and if you have someone who can go with you to the welfare office go this route for insurance if you have too. Do not go on your own, they will make things worse treating you as if you are a animal who is wanting there personal money out of there pocket. You do what you have to, to get better!
I sure hope you get to feeling better!! If it were not for disability I do not know what our family would do! Just can not afford all the medication and doctors and, and....

First, you're not headed downhill to a "breakdown", whatever you think that may be. Anxiety is its own punishment, it doesn't get much worse. Sometimes, it has to do with some unchangeable situation in your life that is a constant aggravation and over which you have no power. Is that what's happening? Projecting your frustration out instead of letting it build up inside can help. Get angry at the cause of your anxiety, not at yourself for being anxious. Anyway, anxiety sufferers rarely wind up going beserk and running naked and screaming down Main Street. They only think they're going to do that, which makes them all the more anxious.

It is the usual thing with anxiety disorder that you think some part of your body is starting to fail, thus all the concern with kidney failure and so on. Usually anxiety sufferers think they're having heart attacks, but that's not meant to give you any ideas. The fact that you have selected kidney failure and cancer suggests to me that someone you know and love had cancer and kidney failure and now you think you're going to get it. The anxiety would derive from the fact that you could do little or nothing to help them with the problem Perhaps ...

Hands cramping or twitching can come from hyperventilation, breathing so fast that you blow off the carbon dioxide your body needs to maintain its chemical balance. You might try square breathing to calm down - inhale, hold one second, exhale, hold one second, inhale, hold one second, exhale, hold one second.

Whatever, you aren't alone. Millions suffer from anxiety disorder.
Google it - you might find some info and perspective on the issue.
You didn't mention your age, but the time in life when the hormones change - teen years and then in midlife for women - are the more susceptible time for this kind of thing. So, if that's an appropriate age for you, consider that it's not really your fault, but just the effect of your changing hormones.

Well, you'll just have to stick it out. I recommend getting a myspace if you don't already have one because you can customize to be YOU. YOU can be YOURSELF no matter what other people think and it shouldn't cause you any more problems than you already have with peers. I didn't have that great of a time in school either and not many friends..I stuck it out, got with my childhood sweetheart, eventually had a kid and am now pregnant with #2 and getting married on the 15th. So, wait it out..you could move away from there when you become an adult too..that's another option. I wish you the best! Sorry you have to put up with such immature ingrates.

I am assuming you have already been to the doctor to rule out that there is not a medical problem causing this. If not, do that first. There are free or sliding fee scale clinics for both medical treatment and counselor/psychiatric care. Medication for anxiety disorders is not very expensive and you can get samples of some medications from your doctor. Talk to your friends, write in a journal, listen to relaxing music, do yoga, whatever helps you feel better. There are internet or in person support groups for a variety of disorders that are all free. But, you are ultimately going to need to get some professional help if you're still feeling bad. Hope you're feeling better.

Have you officially been diagnosed though it could be you are just paying too much attention to certain things..try not to focus on it soo much you may not need medication. You just might need to relax a bit. I sometime feel the same way or If I get the chance to sit by myself and think for a while my mind will go waay off on a tangent from frickin how people come up with ideas for commercials to if the lady at LA weight loss is really my friend or just trying to make money off me. So see there are plenty of people who are a little screwed up but that doesnt mean you need meds for it, if its not hurting yourself or others you are ok. good luck
i really hope this helps you out.

I dealt with panic/anxiety attacks for years. I can't count how many times I went to the ER with chest pain. Once, I was even transported to Memphis (70 miles away) by ambulance. All that due to panic. At that time, it was not often recognized, so I was always given an ECG and general exam, and cleared to leave.
I went through therapy, but only really recovered when two things happened. I got a thorough evaluation and was cleared to do whatever, physically, and then I began running. Nothing like getting your heart rate to 180, and living through it to convince one that one is okay.
If you are unable to engage in aerobic exercise, then, I would encourage you to learn a relaxation technique. You have to practice, but it does work. Good luck.

Hi,

Breathing has always helped me. Breath deep breathes through your nose and exhale out of your mouth. That tends to sooth the nerves. And if you have a need to scream, get a car and let it loose! It works fast. It will get better. Life is all about constant changes and this shall pass too. Maybe, read of do something you like, to make your self-esteem go up. Good Luck and know you are not alone. There are people in this world that don't want to harm but to help.

Just learn to relax and tell yourself that there is nothing wrong with me. Have you had a check up lately? Maybe if you do that that will give you some peace of mind. There are places that help people without insurance. I know because i suffer with ptsd and major depression. So don't be hard on yourself, Ok?

I also have problems with anxiety and I found that meditation is the only thing which has helped me take control over my anxiety. It allows you to relax and also teaches you how to relax during those times of anxiety either by learning how to take your focus away from your anxiety or by recognizing it and minimizing it. Please research meditaion and anxiety if you want help, it's worth a try.
Good luck.
