A friend, a neat person, had messed up theology which was messing up his mind and leaving him no peace. As a "know it all", I pushed him too hard w/ the message of grace. Lost the friendship since he wasn't ready to leave his works.

Yes, I have and regreted very much. But I asked for forgiveness. I believe it is forgiven when I confessed it to God. The Bible says so and I simply believe so. If not, what else. We must go on living. This is classical for a Christian. But other religions may have their methods of asking for forgiveness. Ask a Buddhist and you will be shown how it should be done. That is much difficult. Not like the faith of Christianity. This becomes the envy of other religions. Just ask and it is forgiven. But don't get me wrong. That forgiveness is spiritual. If you have committed any felony and death or imprisonment is the punishment by the laws of the country, when you are judged guilty, you must then serve the sentence or face he death penalty. Nevertheless, your sins are forgiven by Christ and when you are executed, your soul will go to heaven. Simple isn't it but hard to believe. This is all in the Bible. Hope you see it there.

I used to be fundamentalist before I insisted on teaching an adult singles class. The class ended up having quite a few homosexual disciples, which made me uncomfortable. I worked through it and began to see them as human beings who struggle with their sin just as I struggled with my own. When I studied the scriptures with them, instead of just seeing homosexual sins, I saw how inclusive the scriptures were -- especially NT texts. Then Jesus's words became real to me: "Don't judge lest ye be judged also." We became friends in Christ who struggle together, love together, and encourage each other. I never got that from my hardcore Christian friends.

Going to TWO open-casket funerals (Catholics like them...go figure!). One was for my grandmother and the other for my young nephew, who'd been killed by a hit-and-run driver. I'll NEVER forget the image of their bodies! It freaked me out! Luckily, I'm an atheist now.
