If you go to the IIHS.org website, the yaris actually got the best ratings for ANY of the small cars. the next best was the Honda Fit which got a poor rating from the rear rather than marginal that the yaris recieved. That being said, if you want a small car, the Yaris seems to be the safest bet for you.

it might ,make rates go up,,what was worse i seen the test results the done with the yaris,i own a repair shop and i wouldn't wont to be in one doing 30 miles per hour,and get hit,but id say insurance rates will go up on these and a lot of other smaller ones ,there's was a few other ones that did bad also ,kind of scary wen you think about it,good luck hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
