Anytime you take medications for various medical conditions especially things for anxiety, depression and other mental illnesses you can develop a high tolerance to them and require more medication in order to have the same effect. It makes treatment hard because doctors have to keep adjusting the dosages until eventually you may have to try something new altogether if the medicine just doesn't work anymore.

I'm not sure about the medication you're asking about, but it is possible to become immune to pain medications which causes people to take more and more to achieve being pain free. Sooooo, I think it might very well be possible for you to be in the same situation. I would consult the doctor who prescribed it though. Don't just take my word for it.

Immune is not the word I would use. Your body will get used to a drug, then more is needed, then more.
Go tell your doctor about this, if your doctor is not listening (you no he/she give you that stare like ya right) go to another doctor. My doctor was floored when his pain meds were not helping me and I went to another doctor. He had me in tears for he was training a girl and was embarrassed I would get another opinion.
You are doing real good by being on meds to control your schizophrenia, my ex hubby refused to take meds. for his.
You may need to try something else out. What works for a time will not always work, sorry to say...Do not let the medical community treat you like you are sub human...
Good luck!

Sometimes, psych med's just quit working like they did before. My doc explains that your liver processes some of these med's differently over time - especially if you are on multiple medications. Let the doc know right away. He/she can adjust the dose or try something different.

Please do your part to help by taking the med's regularly as prescribed. That makes a big difference in making these things work successfully.

yes, your body can "get used to a drug", and it will no longer have an effect.

Yes, it's called "backlash", where the drug is no longer effective
