I reckon its because the wine assists in conversation and general openess.
I may be wrong.
Anyway, according to the alcohol drinkers foundation, wine and beer helps digestion and restful sleep. I can't comment on the validity of that last sentence but firmly believe it....

I have also read that a glass of wine a day can benefit your health.....but if you decide to take a break from the wine, do it for a week or so and see how your body reacts......If you find that you can't sleep without it, there may be a problem, but if you notice no difference after a night or two, then have your wine.......Also if you limit yourself to 1 or 2 glasses a night, that is not very much, it is when you feel the need to keep having more that you have to start to ask yourself, ok what's up? Do I need the wine or do I want the wine? Only you can truly answer this question.......Good Luck.....
