Ok so theres this guy i work with (i just turned 17, hes 16 almost 17) He flirts with me alot and does thinks like teases me and tickles me when he walks by. He also makes jokes like how we're going to get married and calls me honey. And he has also given me little presents like candy and stuff and he always tries to be near me at work. He has also mentioned that we need to hang out but then says that he's too hardcore for me because i dont smoke and he does. But Recently he has been acting more distant with me untill yesterday when we had a break together and got to talk and eat together. anyway, i really like him and it seems like he likes me but he hasnt done anything to actually TRY to get closer to me like ask for my number or anything. and i know that i have been hinting that i like him so why hasnt he tried to do anything like ask me to hang out? does he like me?

I would say he likes you because he is a "hardcore guy" as you put it and you aren't. He is trying to be this tough, 'gangster' guy, and you are the 'goodie' (not saying you are..just guessing here). The question you have to ask yourself is: Is he good enough for you? If he smokes, and you don't, is that something that is going to bother you? What if he does other things you don't agree with? Think of that stuff before you jump into something with him. Maybe there's a reason he thinks he's too "hardcore" for you other than the smoking issue.

Maybe he has a girlfriend already? At 17 if he likes you he will ask you out. Otherwise don't chase him. Guys are weird about that sort of stuff. A few might like it, but most at 16, 17 want to pick the girl.

Girl, I've had the same exprience as you. Except this happened when I was younger. I have this best guy friend right now and we became really close. I like him and I have the feeling that he likes me. We are really close. I once expected him to ask me out or hang out. But then I realized that we were just friends and it's only going to reach that level. He must like you but, maybe he thinks that your going to make the first move. Why don't you ask him to hang out with you recently and just wait, maybe he will too.

Uh duh. Yeah he likes you. Maybe he's thinking the same thing about you. He's been throwing you hints and you haven't made a move yourself. Maybe he's been distant because you never comment on the things he says... like getting married and hanging out. He might need some kind of confirmation about how you feel before he puts himself out there.

Yes, he probably does. Most guys like to "dream" that the girl will ask them out, but that's not the way it works. He is probably kind of nervous that if you say no, it will ruin your friendship. My advice is, you make the move.

Honey, if he was really "that into you" you wouldn't have to ask. Turn your attention elsewhere...men always want something they can't have. If that doesn't do the trick, you really haven't lost much at this point. Good luck!

hes crazy 'bout u... he is prob. just feeling kinda shy because u didnt really show much interest in him back so he has prob. dropped back a bit... u shud ask him out tho if u like him... u guys shud get married...

hmm. does he do that wit other grls too or jsut you? he might jsut be playing wit you, so watch it, you might get crush.
another thought is that he liked it the way your relationship is working and doesnt want to ruin it by getting too close to you so when you start to get closer to him, he backed off.

Yeah, but maybe he feels the same way about you. It is possible he doesn't know you like him. That road can go both ways.
