Besides the lack of belief in a God or gods, is there any other quality that seems to connect Atheists?

Perhaps scepticism.

No, in my experience, atheists are not typically the "joining" type, so only a very few belong to atheist groups. I have thought about joining an atheist organization a few times, but ultimately decided each time that there were just too many weirdos involved. That's because the ones who join ARE weird. Maybe those (few) really do think of atheism as a religion. The vast majority of us do not. Interestingly, the atheists I've met in everyday life are some of the most compelling, thoughtful, individuals I know. Go figure.

Yes, I think there is a common link among atheists within a given culture. Atheists in America and Europe share a post-Christian world view which retains certain ethical and metaphysical aspects. There is also a linear view of history and interest in science and reason.

A non-theistic Buddhist in China would have a dramatically different world view, perhaps not believing history is linear. Reincarnation might be possible (even Sam Harris is interested in it). There would be less emphasis on the epistemological possibilities on science, but more stress on wisdom and tradition as paths to truth.

For many, Atheism might be a form of denial or rebellion against God due to some unfortunate life circumstance. Some atheists are just angry at the world and organized religion. Deep down, atheists really do believe in God or atheists worship themselves as a god or atheists worship empirical science as a god.

Not really. Some atheists may find similarities but there are disputes between us also. Not all atheists are rational people either. We're just people with no belief in a god or gods.

i'm an agnostic and you can ask us the same things and you might get a different response from different agnostics that's like that with every religion or sets of beliefs just like with christians and muslims and whoever else so to say that all people are the same is kind of illogical so to speak

Not really. No more than there is a link between Atheists and Theists.

Belief in science. And as someone else noted, skepticism, and a need for proof from independent sources. Or, the most important one: common sense.

Not really. Good ones and bad ones as those who say they believe in God.
