Individual girls and individual boys are all different. Some people generalize and say that girls are more difficult to talk to-leave in a huff, offer the silent treatment, etc. If this is what you are refferring to, I can say that not all girls are like that. In your situation, however, it may seem like it. Perhaps the girl in question doesn't want to upset you greatly--maybe she is very upset and is choosing to hold her tounge instead of blurting out something she may not have fully meant and regretting it later. If you two got in a fight, maybe each of you is partially to blame and you both just need to accept responsibility for your actions and your words.
I also think that maybe some of the not-speaking-their-minds-all-the-time qualities often associated with women come from literally thousands of years of opression--not all that many years ago, respectively speaking, women could be executed or thrown in jail for speaking up. It takes a while to become adjusted to modern policies, and the policies are maturing at the same time. Each generation changes how they interact slightly. But remember---girls are still intelligent, caring and can be hurt just as easily as you.
