It isn't being debated because it is a settled quesiton. Just because there are flat earthers with web sites doesn't mean that the shape of the earth is debated, they are just politily ignored. It is similar with creationists except that they occationally waste the courts time by filing law suits against school boards.

Who gives a crap what the pope thinks. I don't believe that the human mind developed so much and became such bright creatures from evolving from some kind of ape. Get REal!!!! It's just not possible. Even if there was something other significant thing that developed like we did from something......maybe I would give it a second thought. Until then..............

Yes, a huge percentage of the United States population doesn't believe evolution is true. Among scientists no, there is no debate.

Just as there are people who question the bible, there will be people who question evolution. As long as man has a brain and time to ponder, everything is open for debate.

Well, the last pope did. The new pope seems to not like science as much ... apparently god changed his mind.
People are still debating it, but it's been over a hundred years since SCIENTISTS last debated it.

Isn't it amazing? At the dawn of the 21st century, people are still debating the creation myths, in what is supposed to be the most technologically advanced country on the planet. Makes me want to hurl.

oh yes it is still in debate and I don't see it stopping any time soon. A lot of Christians still don't think evolution and religion can co-exist, they think evolution would disprove Creation theory and Christianity as a whole..so they will fight it to the death

why should it be debated? evolution by natural selection has been proven experimentally numerous times. The appearance of the HIV virus and new stains of antibiotic resistant bacteria are proof outside the lab.
Unfortunately there are lots of ignorant people who refuse to have there religious dogmatic beliefs challenged by science.
