my fav. is Bumble & Bumble gentle shampoo-it smells awesome! It's made for "chemically dependent" people..of course it's my fav. when followed by their super rich conditioner-best ever! the thickest conditioner, and made even my bleached hair much better
(Paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo once a week for a super tingly-got the crap out of my hair feeling)

Yuck!
Dont listen to any of these answers telling you to buy your shampoo over the counter at a department store.
I'll tell you why.
The store brands, often use less expensive ingrediants. Thats why they are less expensive.
Salon products use better ingredents. The moisturizers usually have a smaller molecular weight. The smaller the molecule the further into hairshaft it can peneate.
Also the surfectants (soap) in store brands, Tend to be more aggressive than they need to be. While the Salon brands tend to use gentle surfectants, that will clean without drying or damaging the cutical.
There are several Store Brand that Use thickening agents that are too strong. they plump your hair , but also move the molecules in your shaft further apart from eachother, there by making your hair more fragile.
Most of the time these shampoos will also exchange silicones or silk oils for waxes (less expensive). This coats your hair and makes it feel really good.It also covers the damage there thickining ingrediants, and surfectants create.
The problem is the waxes do not let any new moisture into your hair, so your never getting the cortex (inside) of you strands conditioned.
This creates a dependance on there brands. They damage, but you need there waxes to make it feel better. And when you switch to a good brand, that layer of wax starts to fade. Reveiling the damage left by store products, but most of us blame the new shampoo because the new salon product doesnt add that immediate wax, rather it hydrates to the core, and results begin to show over a week of use.
The good news is your salon product will lead you to georges healthy hair with continued use, and It will be Really health. Not just coated over.
Consult yor hair cutter! Who knowes your hair better than them? Ask for a recomendation, and take there advice. Your great hair is good advertising for them.
P.S. Paul Mitchell Shampoos Are usually only around $8. as are many more great product lines.
Just my Professional Opinion, I own my own product line!

The reason why I like these shampoos is that it does what it say it will do. Leave my hair shiny, with body, promotes hair growth and healthly looking.

I love Aussie Colour Mate because since using it, my hair colour lasts like 3 weeks longer than it used to when I was using a different colour shampoo. And it smells nice!

there is nothing wrong with garnier fructis. my friend does hair and she said that is the safest one to use on the general market if you dont want to go to a salon. I love redken smooth down. when i want to wear my hair flat and all soft when i am in the mood to like my curl. there is also aveda products which i like except they dont work as nice on naturally curly hair they are lighter on the hair and or organic and not tested on animals. so it is up to what you want. ialso agree with the girl that likes bumble and bumble it is awesome any of there product line
