How can I finalise a DVD previously sent to me?

I'm using STUDIO Ver 10 - and want to capture/import some video sequences taken on a digital still camera. Studio help pages suggest that it won't access info on a DVD which is not finished. I've tried transfering it onto the hard disk but that still won't work!

You have to get the person that sent you the DVD to finalize it. Only the machine that made the DVD is able to recognize it to finalize it.
