I'd like to know what kind of programs better to use, the cost and how then they evaluate the kids' learning level. Is their any requirements for the parents?

I'd say check into http://www.k12.com/ . If it's available in the state you live in, my understanding is that you can keep your girls doing the same type of work they would be doing if they were still in school. That way you'll know they will return to school without any gaps.

There are many homeschool places for overseas use. I did the ACE program with my son in 7th grade. Yousend them papers and they grade and send them back.

Also Abeka has a great progrma, but I do not know their overseas policies.

Go to Google and find all the curriculum offerings. You can find all kinds and levels of materials.

However, do not keep the girls away from the nationals. Go to church or other functions so that they are not always at home or just mixing with other expats. VALUABLE it is to live overseas. We did a lot of it and much the best memories are from activity with nationals. Go for it

u need to get books for the girls. their grade. Whatever the language is there teach them and assign a few hours of homeschool and make them study. It`s better to actually associate with other children and do other activities.

i am in similar situation. i have 2 girls and a boy, 6th ,3rd, 1st , grades we are living in kuwait for a year.what i do is check their teachers web sites now and then to keep on or around the same track their on. and i found lots of printable worksheets on the internet to go with their lessons, and it seems to be working out. though it is hard at times cause you never have time for yourself after school you have to do all the womanly duties so your day starts early and ends when you go to sleep persay.but it is great to be the one who taught my son to read and learn new things.

If you're only going to be moving out for a year, and they're that young, I would recommend Laurel Springs. You can talk to a teacher every month and they send you the material.

Why do you want to homeschool? Don't be stupid. Don't raise you kids in a bubble. Let them learn about the culture by sending them to school. They will learn new customs and a new language.
