It was a truck (crew cab to be more specific) and in California, but the vehicle is in almost excellent shape.

It means that the vehicle was registered for commercial use. Meaning it was a company vehicle. As far as I no, there are none of either. You may pay a fee to register it differently.

It depends on the state. Most commercial registrations though must be owned by some type of a business even if the business only has a business license and isn't a LLC or incorporated. The differences range from taxes, fees for titles, emissions laws, etc. But these type of things are mostly handled by state DMVs. Since you didn't mention what state you are from I would suggest contacting your local DMV.

It means it was used commercially. For business purposes. Depending on the business that could be good or bad. For example a van used commercially may have been used for delivery purposes and been driven by employees who could care less if it was taken care of and driven properly.

just kidding. it means it's a vehicle rated for business and commercial use, and usually costs more to register and insure.

Pickup truck? Means you can load it from above. Ie; fork lift, loader, drop things into the bed like dirt, gravel, etc.

It costs more for registration, but not for insurance.
