There are so many good ones. Depends on your taste in humour. You mean stand-up comedy acts right?
I love stand-up comedy but I'm a sucker for toilet humour so I'm probably not the best help.
My favorites are Chris Rock, Denis Leary, Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams...some old Richard Pryor
I love the blue collar comedy series (Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy). Bit red-neck-ish, but clean and funny.
Sorry I can't think of any female stand-up comedians...none come to mind but I know there are many funny ones (I just know them by their face, I watch Montreal's "Just for laughs" all the time).
