Sin is a religious concept. Religion isn't fact. Viewing anything as "sin" is subjective.

Atheism would be a sin against the First Commandment:
I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them. (Ex 20:2-5; cf. Deuteronomy 5:6-9)
Free thinking doesn't really mean anything. Both Theists and Atheists have made a decision to or not to believe in God. Agnostics have decided not to decide.
With love in Christ.

Unbelief or blasphemy the denial that Jesus is the son of God comes from being presented with the word and refusing it which is technically by the scriptures a sin.
Not being told of the Gospel and never hearing it is ignorance and is not a sin those people will not be held accountable for their nonbelief but for those who had the opportunity to teach that person the gospel and did not do so will be held accountable.

Unbelief that causes a person to deny the living God is an unforgiveable sin. An atheist as long as he remains an atheist is committing the unforgiveable sin.
Salvation rests on faith, on believing in God, who "so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16.

Unfortunately, Atheism is a sin. Atheism is when one denies the existence of God, which implies a sin. Atheists are also people who reject God. Athiest may be called free thinkers but in terms of the bible, being a Athiest is a sin. Do not worry, many things are a sin, everyone sins.

It's a sin if you believe in sin. But atheists don't believe in sin, so it's moot. Priests' words have little importance for atheists.

How many times is the same question going to be asked here?
Atheists simply lack belief in any diety. In other words, it is the default position. We are not making any claims. We are all born atheists and learn the concept of god(s) within the construct of our particular culture.

i think the word sin is much overused, each person uses the intellect they have to come to their conclusions,,,,, to me it only would be a fault if someone didnt think on issues,, just absorbed what they had been told,,,,,,, but even then, how much can you fault them, perhaps they were not given the type brains to think about these things,,,, so no Atheism nor any religion is a sin,,,,,,

The Bible says that all men know of God because the invisible things of the Lord are clearly seen so they are without excuse.
Therefore someone saying there is no God is a lier.
