It's perfectly normal to feel depressed about major change. Any transition is a looking forward (which can be scary) and looking back (which can lead to the feelings you have about "a huge failure.") You will probably be able to enjoy your senior year more as graduation approaches and more of your class is having the same experiences.
There are some important things you can do to make it more possible to work through the depressed feelings, but first you have to decide if you need to see a professional. If you have a history of depression or have taken medication for it in the past, it might be a good idea to check in with your doctor. Once that is resolved, you can look through some of the other advice you have gotten.
One of the worst parts about transition is you aren't well anchored in any one spot. The past feels gone, so spend some time listing all of your accomplishments in high school. It's not all failure. The future seems uncertain, so list some of the things you plan to do after graduation, even the little things.
Moods tend to change, feelings tend to drift away. If you seem to stay stuck beyond what seems reasonable to you, it never hurts to talk to a counselor, a school counselor or psychological counselor.

Yes it's normal and there is even a word for it, Anomie. It means 'an absence of norms' and happens whenever there are big changes in our lives, particularly when we don't know what will happen next. In effect, you are used to the rules at school and now you don't know what they are. People hate uncertainty, it's the biggest cause of fear-generated aggression and self-harming behaviour, that happens when the fear is turned inwards. Difficult I know but try and see this as a change for the better; you will enjoy new experiences; become a different person if you want to; move on to new opportunities etc. It also means that your days of having to accept other peoples rules without question are about to change. You can decide things for yourself now. Good Luck

yes, I suggest you look into the future instead of the past, start planning college and let the fact that you feel a little dissapointed with high school teach you what not to do. People say that high school takes the best years of your life, its not true, you have learned invaluable lessons, now, instead of being depressed tell yourself how you are not going to feel like a failure in college

Yes its normal, but now it's time to move on. You cannot change the past. Don't look back, at least not yet. It's what you do with your future that counts. Do a good job at it and your former classmates will wish they got to know you better in high school.

i just graduated this past spring, and it was the most trying year of my high school 'career', maybe even my life. i was very sad and depressed most of the year, not because i was sad about leaving, but because of life. you realize that high school is just that- high school. the best thing you can do is finish out the school year to the best of your ability. some of your friends will try to stay in high school and still be immature about a lot of stuff. just keep your chin up and look forward to meeting new people in college! it'll be worth it :) hope this helps!

Very normal. Your life has made a big change.
When you step from the light of your reality into the darkness of the unknown, one of 2 things will happen, you will land on solid ground or God will teach you how to fly.

Any major change can cause the blues. If it last more than a few weeks and won't relent, you may need some help.
