You can look up the schedule for any nearby convention centers to see if they have a gem and jewelry show coming to the area.

Another very good resource is to travel to any nearby caves or crystal mines and look in their gift shops. I've found some very good deals this way. I know there are some in Arkansas. You can google to find them.

If you can find a metaphysical shop in your area and develop a good relationship with the owners, they may take a special order from you when they go to their next wholesale rock show, or maybe they will offer to take you along if you're friends. Rock shows are awesome and the prices are fantastic.

I found one about the size of a baseball in the French Quarter over 20 years ago, and paid $149 for it. I apologize for not remembering the name of the shop, but after Katrina it's probably gone anyway. The price will haunt me always.

Being that louisiana is the Occult/Voudou capital of the state/world especialy neworleans, look just about anywhere in the french quarter and also check local listings for occult shoppes.

At a shop that sells crystals and precious stones. I have a medium size lapis lazulis sphere bought from such a shop. Quartz spheres are easier to be found. You should know that their prices vary according to their size and their quality...

It's "quartz". Anyhow, www.azuregreen.com is a great source for that. Last I knew they had genuine rock crystal spheres. But hon, they are EX-pensive. Good clear glass will do you just as well.
