Can you use a coffee urn (percalator) to keep hot cocoa (chocolate) in?

We are having a party, and would like to keep a large amount of cocoa warm.

I'm sure that you can, it can keep anything warm. My question is why it is called an urn, kind of a difference between that and remains of dead people in a bowl.

Yes, there would be no problem at all with using a percolator to keep cocoa warm.

yes.. have done it before, prepare the hot chocolate and pour it in where the water fgoes and it will fill the pot and keep it warm!

I think you meant carafe and not urn.
