my 7 month old boxer pup has really terrible gas. She's in good health and I just had her fixed and the vet said she's fine, but she just keeps farting and it's bad enough to clear a room. Any suggestions on how to make it stop?

Hi! This a typical thing for Boxers. Choose a premium dry dog food and resist the urge to give her or him scraps from the table. Also do not give canned dog food.I would also suggest a good vitamin that has omega fatty acid in it. Boxers often have dry skin.

well what was said about possibly chaging your dog's diet is true...but a vet who suggest u use a low grade pet food is insane...
- baiscally canned dog food could be the culpurate but also certain ingredients in pet food could be causing the gas....food that are hard to digest for example such as corn and soy could be the culporate...check the ingredients in your dogs food and if you do decide to switch brands do so gradually over the course of a week or so..starting but mixing 25% of teh new food with 75% of teh regular food then 50-50 and then 75-25...you should see resulta within a week or two if that was indeed teh problem...here is a good website on dog nutrition which you can use as a guide to selecting a good new food aleternative for you dog...

Neutro Puppy formula for sensitive stomachs. Do not give her table food for a while. And if you do change the food, make sure you wean her slowly from the old food. Start with a 80(old food)/20(new food) mix then go down gradually until you have her on the new food. Make sure you are not giving her any dairy products either because that also creates gas.

the best thing to do is not feed her canned dog meat, only feed her kibble food, Boxers are infamous for having sensitive digestion coupled with an insatiable urge to eat everything lol my Labradors had the same problem and we were told to put them on Chappie kibbles by the vet...they are a cheaper food so get some bad press but are full of added nutrients and is fish not meat based so are very good for digestion especially with sensitive dogs, charchol treats also help in my experiance.

I would try new food because it may be a food allergy, but also add a teaspoon of Greenies into her food bowl with her meal. That should help cut down the gas.

New food, no human food. 2 week trials for the food, maybe sensitive stomach food diet.
