The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is based out of Washington D.C., you could call or contact them online, through usps.com. Alternately, if any consumer products (such as perscription drugs) are being stolen, feel free to contact the FBI. Either way, mail tampering or mail fraud are punishable as federal crimes and can carry serious jail time. If the mailman is indeed taking payment to misdeliver your mail, chances are he'll get the bigger penalty.

I'm no lawyer but tampering with mail is a Federal offense and if you believe your mail Carrier is being paid off I can only suggest contacting the supervisor of your local post office or the post master. Go to www.usps.com, there are all sorts of contacts/info on this site. Be sure your right about your mail carrier....your making a very serious accusation. You may want to let your carrier know what you suspect (or not) before you do anything. There could be a logical answer to this problem.....Good Luck

soulds like a case of identity theft. did you recognize the name that came up on your soc. sec. no.? you need to make out a report at the police station(so there's a record of the problem, not that they could solve it). contact all your credit card people and advise them. also your bank acct's. you could check with one of the three credit bureaus and take it from there. this is something you need to MOVE ON FAST.... waste no time. good luck

Serious charge for going into someones mailbox. Federal offense. Call your city's Federal building number and ask to speak to the Federal Marshal. He/She will help you and this person will be caught. Could get 10 years in a Federal Prison. Don't wait. Call your Federal Marshal.

It's a federal crime. The United States Postal Service has a web page with a link to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service that has a mail fraud link. Please burn them! I hate that crap!!!

Take a trip to your nearest Post Office and ask to see a gentleman referred to as the ''Postmaster General''. If what you say is true he will be very upset, and he doesn't play around when he's upset!

All you have to do is call the post office and ask to speak to the post master general. That person will solve your problem the same day you call him
