Hello Dear...

Scotts are actually mostly Nordic, which is pre-Germanic, Pre-Celtic, with a goodly amount of Celtic and German mixed in.

Genetically, they have more in common with the people of Norway and Finland, than with Germanic peoples.

Namaste,

They are definitely Celtic. The original peoples were over-run by the Celtic Irish. [The irony of this was that, centuries later, the English brought the Protestant Scots to Ireland to colonize the Irish-Catholic area called Ulster.]

Nothing to do with Germanic sorry, But if you go far back you would find that they are Celtic. Not just that but Ireland and Scotland are one in the same, as in a people i mean. Although many centuries has passed that today they are totally different cultures, and as such are now two different people (i.e.) Irish and Scottish

The Scots are Celtic (Keltic) just as the Welsh, and Irish are. That's why hte names of the Scots and Irish are fairly close. Meaning the Mc and Mac.
