I either end up getting liquid yokes or hard green yokes. What am I doing wrong? I usually cook 4 at a time. How do I do it right? Any suggested ingredients for delicious egg salad?

You'll find if you do a search that this answer has been answered many times. Put some eggs in a saucepan and cover by at least an inch with cold water. Bring to boil for ten minutes. Remove from heat and place to rest for about 15 more minutes...then you need to rinse and cool so they don't get the ugly grey ring. I'm sure others have their methods, but my one tip for peeling easier is to not forget the salt in the water!!

ok this is so simple,,i saw this on a cooking show and it works so well.......i do about a dozen at a time for varies recipes.but it doesn't matter 4 as you do or 12 as i do....put the eggs in the pot with water to cover the eggs and bring to a ROLLING boil......then cover the pot and REMOVE it from the burner,,set it off to the side of the stove and let it "cook" for at least 20 minutes...they will be done in that amt of time but you can let sit like that until your ready....try this it DOES work and they are prefect.....

Start with cold water. Add some salt and bring eggs and water to boil. Turn burner off and cover with a lid and let sit for about 15 minutes. Then cool off in cold water and peel.

well i would say between 8-12 mins usually for three eggs so it would not be much more for another egg just be sure that it is a hard enough boil, not those little bubbles a rolling harder boil that way they will cook all the way through

This is one thing I taught my mom after all her years of cooking. Put your eggs in a pan of cold water, enough to cover the eggs. Then, add salt to your water.I put quite a bit in it, this will let your eggs peel easy. My mom didn't know that. After your water starts to boil, let it boil for 10 min's. Drain off hot water and feel it with cold, let it stand for a couple of mins, crack your egg and peel under cold running water. Good Luck

you may be getting hard green yokes because you may be putting the eggs in boiling water. and that cracks the shell and allows water to seep in turning the yolks green. put eggs in cold water then boil. after they start to boil wait at least 5 minutes then run cold water over them before you peel them. bon apatite
