Bus takes way too long and forget flying. Train is easiest.

I always got a ride or drove directly into New Haven (Union Station) and bought a Metro-North ticket to Grand Central. A one way ticket is $14 (off peak hours) or $18.50 (peak). It's more expensive if you buy the ticket after boarding. The train ride from New Haven is about 1hour 45min. There is a parking garage at the New Haven station. In my opinion that's the easiest way.

You could also drive to New London or Old Saybrook and figure out the Amtrack or Shore Line East train that takes you to New Haven (Union Station) where you can transfer to a train going to Grand Central. I've never taken Shore Line East and I'm not sure exactly how it works but I know it doesn't run on the weekends. I don't know enough about the Amtrack service from New London .

Well flight is out of the question. One option would be a reverse trip on one of the casino buses that go in and out of Manhattan. There is a lot of them. Go to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun and check out the various buses in the lot and ask some questions.

Your other option would be the Shoreline East to Stamford or New Haven then Metro North into Grand Central. The only problem with SLE is that service is spotty on weekends and holidays north of New Haven

I've been through Norwich. You're better off getting to Amtrak in New London and grabbing the train from there
