No just something someone thought funny. I have seen a head stuffed as a jackolope. A rabbit with those little horns stuck on its head.

No such thing as a rabbit/hare/jackrabbit with antlers.

Such a critter is called a "jackalope" and is fabricated by imaginative taxidermists to confound the gullible. It is a joke. Some look quite real, though. The idea comes from the fact that male rabbits are called... Bucks!

OK - I'm giving away a big secret here. In the southwest, people can buy stuffed and mounted jackalope heads, or statues. Taxidermists take jackrabbit heads and put small deer antlers on them. Jackrabbits here are quite large - sometimes able to reach 4 feet high when standing on their hind legs and foraging for food. But Jackalopes are a joke aimed at tourists!

It is slightly humerous when people see these heads - or images of them, and are amazed by them. The "locals," get a good laugh out of it, and actually make money selling them :^) (From Santa Fe area)

No, not real, but there are cases of some rabbits that do have "horns". They have something wrong with them that causes "horns" to grow out of different places on their body, and this could be where the legend of the jackalope came from. However, I did get a jackalope license from Wyoming, or one of those northern plains states. Season is always open, and there are no limits.

A jackolope is a cross breed between a jack rabbit and and antelope. I ain't ever seen one. they're rare, mysterious and...MYTHICAL.

Well, it's technically a legend, but there was a point where people found rabbits that were infected with a virus that caused a bony growth on their heads, which began to resemble antlers or horns.

DONT LISTEN TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE
THE JACKALOPE WAS NEARLY HUNTED OUT OF EXISTENCE IN THE 1800'S
THEY HAVE A PROBLEM IN HAVING TO LIVE IN HOLE BIG ENOUGH TO ALLOW FOR THEIR ANTLERS.
FOR THIS REASON PREDATORS LIKE FOX, COYOTES AND LARGE VENOMOUS DUCKS CAN EASILY GET INTO THEIR BURROWS AND EAT THEM.
MOST PREDATORS KILL THEM BECAUSE THEY TASTE SO GOOD AND THEY CAN USE THEIR ANTLERS TO PICK THEIR TEETH WITH AFTER THE MEAL
(BUNNY FUR YOU KNOW)
THE VENOMOUS DUCKS WERE MORE TROPHY HUNTERS, MANY OF THEM WERE SEEN FLYING AT NIGHT WEARING THE ANTLERS ON THEIR HEADS IN A HORRIBLE UNHOLY DISPLAY.
IF YOU LIVE IN AN AREA KNOWN TO HAVE JACKALOPES OR VENOMOUS DUCKS DO NOT GO OUT AT NIGHT.
