Religious people spend all their time being judged by those that "run the show"; priests, pastors, etc. Because of this, they turn around and judge everyone else, because they have a subliminal mission to help other people not get "into trouble" for the things they have already been in trouble for themselves.
If people would merely live good lives and not worry about what other people are doing, especially when it comes to spirituality, maybe we'd all be able to "get along" better.

I think society has a stigma they have placed on so-called 'religious' people. I have a perfect example.
I was once asked why I don't drink. I said "Because I am a Christian, and feel that it is wrong to drink (there is more to it, but I'll keep it short for the story)". I was told I was being judgemental because I gave that answer.
I think if christians (or whatever religion) use their faith as a reason to do or not do something, it is assumed we are being judgemental. It's like people are saying "Oh, you must be too good to do _____". When, really, we don't care what you do...we are just accountable for ourselves.

I am Christian and I really try to avoid being that way. When I am looking at someone else I am unable to take my own moral inventory and make decisions to let God change me. It is pure foolishness to try and change others and a great waste of time.
More people would love God if they realized He is not demanding but always offering a better way unlike these followers who demand people change because of their knowledge and wisdom they have gleaned from their relationship with God.
God did not ask us to tell people how doomed they are He asked that we spread the Good News of his loving kindness and His desire to reconcile with us.
Though Jesus did make judgments about the people who claimed to love God and didn't I can't think of one time of His being demanding of people other than the religious leaders whose hearts were hard and they were arrogant in their thinking that they knew all God wanted them to and that their interpretation of scriptures were fact.
Though I may have a perfect of understanding of right and wrong in my heart He put it there to perfect me not my neighbor. I can't even change my own character flaws. God can and He will if I choose it. For the life of me I don't understand how people who claim to love God can justify taking people's God given right of choice away. The only effective weapon against immorality is love and anything else is not sufficient.

We must be careful here...
We can judge actions, we can judge them within certain parameters...but we can never judge people, as in the final judgement, or even in many cases judge their actions, because we are not God to know The Truth...merely parts of it.
Tragically, the original sin has remained with us...for we still believe that we can be like God to know The Truth....when the devil has deceived us about Truth and Knowledge...they can lie....
As to sin, sin comes in all colors of the rainbow...we often focus on the one sin of one sinner, we are all sinners...but most importantly Christianity is about how we respect the sinner....most of us get this terribly wrong as Christ said, 'that which you do unto the least of mine, (the sinner) you do unto men...) Perhaps there is a presumption that the sinner is under spiritual attack by the devil as Christ was attacked.
I should know...I discovered anti-truths in 1994...and the media has kept it from you...
Merry Christmas. !!!

We have the Holy Spirit that convicts us of sin. If you walk with Jesus you are aware of sin because He is perfect. No human is perfect and we never will be, not in this life. But when I do or say anything nasty I can feel the tugging at my heart and usually try to change my way. Sounds like a tough way to live, but actually when you are sensitive to the Holy Spirit your life is much more peaceful and happy. But all people have a conscience, God gave it to you, whether you believe in Him or not.

Repentance and forgiveness are the most prevalent concepts of Christianity. They can save your soul and lead you to eternal life, therefore it's never to late. Isn't that optimistic?

Regardless, they need to check out Matthew 7:1-5; they would realize they are in the wrong when they do it.

judge not lest ye be judged.... he who is without sin cast the first stone... Vengence is mine so sayeth the lord.... I'm an athiest, but I know all these little scriptural sayings, cuz I used to believe this crap. But it would seem that Christians invariably ignore these lessons and get right down to judging everyone.

It is a sin to judge...that is taking Gods job and doing it how you see fit, but the problem is that Christians are human and there for sinners, just like non believers...and non believers judge too just in a different ways or for different things...for instance they judge believers...and say we judge...but that's OK, it is why Jesus came to save us from our sin...believe it or not.
Merry CHRISTmas!
