Yes I think it is true. You will not always have a boyfriend or girl friend but you will always have friends. You should make sure you always have great friends because when life gets tough you will need them. The girlfriend/boyfriend will be there for you only for a short period of time.

It is true,even in other languages there is no word to say that love is permanent with another person. Like spanish for example,but there is a word that has a permanant tense for friendship.
To me that has to mean something.

I'll take their word for it. My friendships have lasted way logner than any crush or semi-relationship I've ever had, and I'd rather have the friends, anyway.
