I think I would still go with them and see if I could change their mind, because you never know, if you really find someone you could relate to and if you find someone you love you won't have commitment issues. So take a chance, you never know, what's the worst that could happen? You could not only change your life, but change that other person's life too.

At least the person is honest. You should be as well.
First, be honest with yourself. Are you looking for a one-on-one relationship that requires a personal commitment? If so, you have been warned. Back off or prepare to get hurt. If you can accept that this person may have others in his life, then proceed with caution. Someone besides yourself may be picked as the person to form a commitment.
Next, be honest with him (I am assuming you are a Gal and he a Guy, but realize that this might not be the case). If you are still interested, tell him. Your relationship might be what is required to allow him to understand what a commitment is.
Above all be open and honest. Communication is the key to any lasting relationship.

If they are telling you to back off don't bother or annoy him/her. Just be friends with the person for now and you can bring up the topic later.

be with them and take one day at a time, if they really want to be with you, they'll slowly commit. Don't push it and don't run from it.
Good Luck!!
