There are quite a few birds which will walk rather than fly unless they need to, many of the gamebirds are prime examples; grouse, partridge, pheasants, quails, turkeys, guinea fowl, etc.

yup. Chickens can but don't. my lil chick almost flew out of that big box, cause it had to due to it's belief of thinking it was in solitary confinement (think i spelled it wrong). So probably if they have to, they will.

quails prefer to walk, and only fly when they are in danger.
