Sirloin is good. London broil is better. Remove all the fat you can. Cut just under 1/4" (Walmart has a meat slicer around $30.00). Marinate meat with a soy based marinade (Allegro is best, but any dollar store brand will do) and some black pepper. Use a store bought dehydrater. When it is almost done (this is my secret) place the meat in the marinade again. Then finish drying it. Oh yeah, you can do poultry too. Use Carribean Jerk marinade. It is very good.

Takes around 3 lbs of beef to make 1 lb of jerky . . may be cheaper to buy World Kitchens brand at around $8.50 per 1 lb bag at Wal-Mart.

get sirloin tip (NOT steak), cut into thin strips,soak meat well in marinate, at least over night in fridge. place marinated strips in dehydrator for approx. 5 hours per pound.
