Also, if a man already has a watch, he doesn't mind getting another one?

Personally, I prefer the sweater idea. The watch is nice but if he already has one... No one could have enough sweaters. You could also try his favorite cologne...??

I don't know if he's into sports but mine's into Golf and there are a million and one things to buy as gift ideas as a result!! What's your guy into? Just you? Try some Victoria Secret!! It's fun for both of you! ; )

Happy holidays and happy shopping!
Cheers!

Well both are nice, but I'd go with the watch. The guy will probably get 14 shirts/sweaters/pants from everyone else he knows. Even if he has another watch, it is okay for men to have more than one for different outfits or occasions. Your gift will be memorable and whenever he has time, he'll think of you.

If you know the guy, and he needs either then thats fine.

Most of the guys I know appreciate more personalized stuff. A sweater is what grandma got them every year, its not something that shows intimate understanding of unmet needs.

I know computer nerds that have loved gifts like:

Gift cards to Sears and Home Depot work well.
Most of the guys I know are tool and gadget lovers. If you really want to give them the kinds of gifts they are looking for, its rarely in the watch or sweater. Sometimes it is, you really need to know the guy and pick the gift based on the personality and lifestyle.
