I'm a beginner and I really want to switch to Linux.

My new comp:

Dell Dimension E521 AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Dual Core 3.8Ghz Computer

512MB, Shared DDR2,533MHZ 2 Dimm

160GB SATA II Hard Drive 7200RPM 3.0 GBPS

Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE 3D Graphics Card

Will I be able to install it easily if I order this DVD? The comp currently runs Win XP Home.

I would actually recommend Ubuntu. For a start, you can boot it straight from the CD and play around with it - without changing anything on your hard drive. So you can see if you like it before you actually install it. Ubuntu looks pretty too :)

if you *DO* decide you like it and want to install it, Ubuntu has an easy-to-use installer which will make space on the drive to install itself.

Do you have the backup CDs for Windows in case you want to reinstall it in the future?
