Trinity: theological term for the one only, the living and true God, who subsists in Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt.3:13-17; 28:19), although in essence He is one-undivided and indivisible (John 10:30; l Tim.2:5).

First off, you have to have an understanding of the Trinity. Let me give you the illustration that helped me understand the Trinity. Take a three leaf clover. Each clover is separate, but yet they come together to form one clover. Does that make sense to you? God, the Son and the Holy Spirit are each separate, but they come together to form one. Or think of it this way: God is the Father in heaven, Jesus is the Father in human form, and the Holy Spirit is the Father indwelled in us. I don't know, I guess you have to believe for it to make sense. It has always made perfect sense to me.

We are made in the Image of Elohim (plural of Elyh) or God, the Father, Word & Holy Spirit. We are a body, soul & spirit.
I Am the Yahweh, thy Elohim, One/AKD Yahweh. He is God the Father, Word & Holy Spirit.
When Jesus was water baptised the Holy Spirit rested on Him and the Father in the bright cloud spoke, "This is my beloved Son in whom I AM well pleased.". That is a vision of the Trinity.
Jesus is the Word / Logos part of the Trinity. And He is praying to His Father in heaven, as a human filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus was on the cross, he cried out, "El El, why has thou forsaken me.". This El is singular of God. Elohim broke for us.
Jesus isn't His own Father. He is a High Father to us though.
What I have come to believe is that God the Father is too bright and strong for humans to look upon. The Holy Spirit is Spirit and is visioned as the anointing flame on anointed people, or in the form of a dove. Before the Word came to us as baby Jesus, The Word is the Son of Man in Heaven visions, or the ancient of days, or the burning bush that Moses saw, or the Yahweh that talked to Abraham on the way to Sodom and Gohmorrah, or the angel that wrestled with Jacob, then exalted his name to Israel, etc...

Oh, the mystery of the Christian faith. Well, Honey, Jesus came to earth as a man, yet the Father was in Heaven, they work as a team. The trinity is probably the most difficult to understand and yet Christians accept it by faith. I guess cause God can do what God wants to do. He is the creator of all things and not limited like we are. He is too beyond our mortal understanding, that is why it is called faith. The Holy Spirit helps you to develop faith, if you ask. God Bless and Happy Holidays.

He is not his own father, he is, as Jesus said himself, "I am in the Father and the Father is in me." We use other verses to explain this to mean that even though he and the Father are one and the same, they are separate. Understand that as Jesus was God, he was equally human. We can easily see his human quality all through his life. He is born into a poor family in a stable, he is threatened with death at a young age, he goes to the temple, he discusses taxes with the elders, he sees and heals the sick, he overturns the money changing tables in anger, he feeds the hungry, he goes hungry himself, he has to sleep in other people's homes, he prays to his God, and he dies a human death on a Roman cross. These are a few of his human characteristics. His Godly characteristics are just a easily seen. He is lulled to sleep by angels, he is worshiped by kings, he out-talks the elders of the temple, he heals the sick, he raises his friend from the dead, he feeds over 5,000 people with a few loaves of bread and fish, he walks on water, he turns water into wine, he performs many other miracles, he warns his disciples of his death before it comes, he is raised from the dead after 3 days in the grave, and he ascends into Heaven through the clouds. He is human and God; this is a hard truth but so wonderful once you understand it.
So when Jesus prays to God, his father, he is praying as a human and as God. He is not his own father, he is "in" his father. It is tough, but it is precious. Remember that as the Trinity is one, it is in three parts. Like how water is one thing, but can be in three different forms i.e. liquid, solid, and gas. It's like boiling water with ice in it. Beautiful picture.
Hope that helps a little. Have a great day!

The father is the first, the holy spirit the second and the son the third. Jesus was made flesh from the spirit of the Lord, which was allready there from the begining of time. Flesh can not combine or fuse, but spirit can... and they're all one.

At the time, He was a man, and as such, He prayed to His father, God. I'm guessing He doesn't have to pray now, just talk to His father. The holy spirit is a gift given from God, its not God itself. Jesus is part of God, like your children are a part of you, but Jesus is still a seperate entity. The three are interconnected, but God and Jesus are not the same entity.

I HAD THAT SAME QUESTION BUT U GOT TO RELIZE HE SAID THERE IS SOMEONE GREATER THEN HE IS AND THATS THE FATHER. WHEN HE WAS PRAYING HE WAS PRAYING TO THE FATHER. WHEN HE SAID NOT MY WILL BUT UR WILL BE DONE HE WAS TALKING TO THE FATHER. IT'S THE TRINITY. THE FATHER THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. THEY R THREE IN ONE. REMEMBER JESUS IS SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF HIS FATHER. AND IF HE IS DOIN THAT THEN HE CANT BE SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF HIMSELF. JESUS IS GOD CUZ THE BIBLE SAUYS THAT IN THE BEGGINING WAS THE WORD AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD AND THE WORD WAS GOD AND THE WORD BECAME FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US. AND REMEMBER WHEN JESUS SAID THE FATHER IS IN HIM AND HE IS IN THE FATHER. I COULD TELL U MORE BUT U WILL FIND OUT FROM GOD HIMSELF CUZ HE WILL REVEAL EVERYTHING TO US WHEN WE GO TO HEAVEN. GOD BLESS. IM 14 YEARS OLD AND U CAN SEE I REALLY STUDY THE BIBLE.

Jesus never claimed divinity, he just said the only way was through him. I see that as meaning through his example...in which case I agree. Who really knows...but some writings were left out of the bible regarding Jesus' marriage. I think it is kind of a deifying of Jesus and hushing up of the church at that time. The trinity is a very old idea, beginning with pagan gods and goddesses.
I am Wiccan, and I have a lot of respect for Jesus, among others, but there are some things that mankind will corrupt. Find in your heart what feels true.
Bright blessings!
