It's a loop. One learns the benefits of meditation from suffering, and one learns about suffering through meditation.

Good question. Perhaps this depends on the way the individual person is geared. Im sure some learn better from meditation, some from suffering.

Mmmm, I have learned more from suffering than anything else, but I would rather have more time to meditate rather than suffering all the time!

You definately learn more from suffering. Because when you
're suffering, that means you're involved in something. If your meditating, well you're not involved in anything other than yourself.

I think a state of meditation is a form of suffering. Have you ever tried it? very painful. The buddhist way is.

You know what sometimes the best life lessons are learned from suffering. "That what doesn't kill you makes you stronger", I believe that 100%. I have suffered/ struggled and have hit really tough times and it has only made me grow and have learned valuable lessons. It sucks but when you struggle, know that its making you stronger.

I've done a great deal of both. While I have gotten some great benefits form regular meditation, it has not changed, or enlightened me, as much as my childhood did.

a state of meditation can out you in such a state that demons can come in, so my answer would be no. If yo are referring to deep meditation that the hindus or buddist do.
